Thank you Kalyani, for collecting and sharing the detailed data regarding the domestic violence and rapes in major cities. The numbers are very alarming and the government and judiciary have to take up corrective measures to stop this violence against women.

Nowadays another problem is happenning. Was seeing that on social media confession pages. Some greedy women are giving false domestic violence charges for revenge/compensation. The husband's life becomes hell.

Result...when there are real domestic violence people would no longer believe it.

Social media is not real and it shouldn't be treated as one. I'm against mob/media trial justice for this very reason. While it's great tool for connectivity and exposure. Virtual life is not real.

Official NCRB data consistently shows that completely false cases account for only about 3.6% to 5% of all domestic filings. Using a 5% margin of error to distrust 100% of women is statistically absurd and a form of collective punishment for all womanhood. All these laws are tilted in favor of women for a reason. Not because people want to be biased towards one gender. IMO De-gendering these laws will only make it worse for vulnerable women and women in general too..in a country like India, where women safety is a joke.

We can have our own version of the "ManKind Initiative" and Male Shelters (UK & Europe) Countries like the UK, Denmark, and Switzerland fund specialized helplines and anonymous safe houses specifically for male victims of domestic abuse and their children.

Those were not media trial posts though. Those were anonymous posts seeking help/guidance.

I was not talking about De-gendering those laws. I was not at all talking about legal matters. I was talking about Social support.

It is of course statistically absurd. But our mind is also absurd. We see what we want to see. Social distrust does not see statistics...it exaggerates.

I was stunned to see the erosion of trust in the comment section of those posts actually.

I understand the concern about misuse of laws, and any false accusation is serious because it can harm innocent lives. But I would hesitate to make it appear as a growing trend or a major reason for disbelief in domestic violence cases.

The larger reality is that many women survivors still struggle to speak up, face social pressure, and often remain unheard. If isolated misuse cases are highlighted, it can unintentionally create suspicion around genuine victims and make reporting even harder.

The focus should perhaps be on fair investigation and justice for everyone, protecting the innocent and ensuring real victims are not silenced or doubted.

Yes they are quite rare. I was not highlighting them either. I meant those who are real victims can not use them but those who are not sometimes misuse them.

I was talking about the mentality that is quite widespread on social media...and probably on many people's mind too..."Women marry only for alimony", "Women are gold diggers", "Be careful about which woman you marry...she will conspire with her lover before marriage and kill you.(They don't see that...her lover is also a man)", "Women who talk about women's rights are feminazis"....and so on..

Sorry, if I have said something that should not be said.

Cases like these can be solved by community notes. It should be enabled in all social media.
