to be honest I didn't find Rio wrong in that conversation.
Why couldn't Dev sell his share in the property/business. Chirag and his family no longer stay here and as per Tulsi they have got their shares so obviously they have sold it. Uselessly making it sound like its so wrong
About Parth getting equal share or not, Dev has a point (though not legally correct). Ba had her own set of property but that too was a family property for Dev waala generation. Had she not given everything to Parth(why did she give in this season now that Parth was never lost) all of them would have got equal share.
So now if from Mihir's side If property distribution happens and again Parth gets a share he would be in a huge advantage. Not to forget, Karan himself has his separate business and going by the way daughters are being ignored in property discussions here, it will all go to him (unless he wants to also give it to Rio or makers suddenly remember Raunak)
So Parth is inheriting much more than others, Dev has right to say that if Mihir Tulsi are distributing their property Parth should get less so as there is a fair distribution.
Parth could have explained it better but he started scolding Dev (and same for Sahil) Rio intervening didn't feel wrong to me
I think Dev is wrong here and rightly being called out. Technically, whatever Baa had was the inheritance she got from Bapuji, which was also technically hers as she’s his wife. He started this business from the scratch and she was with him through it all. When he died, his assets were split 5 ways - Baa, their 3 sons and their only daughter Pragya were his successors. It’s clarified that Baa had her properties transferred to Parth as her successor from whatever she was legally entitled to and whatever Bapuji might have purchased in his lifetime in her name. One of those properties was the home in Kutch that has been completely forgotten now. So technically, Baa picked her successor from one of her great grandchildren and it’s her right to pick whoever she wants.
Mansukh, Himmat and JD are the next ones in line. Mihir technically has inherited his share from Mansukh and by extension so has Tulsi. We know per the canon of this season earlier Hemant has his own business too that’s independent of Virani Industries, Dev is Hemant’s grandson and JD’s great grandson. He’s allowed to be salty about being left out of whatever inheritance he feels he was due from Baa but he’s got no claim over whatever Tulsi and Mihir decide to do with their share and whatever Mihir built beyond his own inheritance as technically Dev has no legal rights to the same. He’s not Mihir’s direct descendant - Parth as Mihir’s grandson has more rights than Dev any day over anything and everything Mihir and by extension Tulsi have regardless of whether it’s movable or immovable property. If anyone had a right to demand more here it could’ve been Nakul or even any child of Shobha’s.
If Dev wants his share to increase he can talk to Gayatri who was right there or his dad.
Regarding the selling out thing; again, it’s not as easy as it looks. Any family owned business wants to retain their sovereignty over their own conglomerate, it’s why family members are the ones with the most shares, any sales of the shares of a family member beyond a certain point can have an impact on the company as a whole especially if a significant amount of shares are sold and to a person/company that can prove to be a detriment to the family owned business. Dev is talking about selling his entire inheritance even before he has acquired it and he’s not even revealed his reasons to sell beyond - I want to sell because I can. He’s basically looking for easy money by liquidating his shares as early as possible without any clue regarding what he wants to do in the future about his own career and to look after his wife and child, not to mention himself.
Dev might not care about who he’s selling his shares to as long as they’re the highest paying company or even an individual; and then that person/company is legally entitled to know everything that the Viranis as a company do, own and plan to do - their expansion plans, their suppliers, their mortgages, their partners, the terms of their contracts with their clients, suppliers and any other information relevant to the company and then use it to sabotage them internally. One immature, selfish and foolish brat’s needs and temper tantrums can’t be allowed to destroy the legacy of a family and the hard work as well as the rightful inheritance of the rest of the family members just because he’s an entitled and greedy, lazy twat.
