2026..still not a single female actor from BW who can fetch the kind of budget and the kind of numbers TDWP especially part 2 has done. 2300cr INR / 234M USD in just 5 days.

BW gives that with hyper masculinity and aggression but when would we have female stars giving us something as massive as this?

I doubt Indian people will understand it at all. I moved to usa few years ago and recently watched the first part and it had several mentions of brands which are unknown to middle class or even lower middle class people of india like YSL, MK, banana republic etc. I myself wouldnt know all these brands when I was in India. people will feel alien to this and has no interest in that luxury fashion. It will be a flop

It was possible few years back when Fashion was a hit(I guess it was hit?). But in today's time it's not possible. Audience themselves want aggresive content.

Also when they can make original movies why should they copy Hollywood? Devil wears prada can be remade in bolly but what's the point? It will be a remake.

I want to see lighthearted movies as well but not remakes, original movies like Piku, Kahani etc.

Thats lame. People in India are aware about brands..all of them are not middle class the same way not all of them smell like chicken curry..we need to stop generalization..so many indians are obsessed with TDWP..we have classes of all kinds even in US..not everyone would know of all brands..but what matters is how you present a movie..TDWP is iconic not because of brands but because of everyone associated with the movie who made it so iconic

Bollywood is copycat. Currently, aggressive movies are becoming hits so they are following the trend. Next if a different genre works at bo, they will make those.

Znmd was to be made with female cast. I guess they dropped the idea?

Back in the day a TV show based on the world of fashion was a huge hit in India named Jassi jaisi koi nahi. Indians are way more fashion aware now especially the urban audience. Anyways it is not about the brands, it boils down to how entertaining the content is.
