Is there a scientific study that proves this equivalence? Because as far as I know, Namaz is done while sitting in one place and has no other movements or requirements for breath control. Yoga has asanas, breath control is an integral part of the exercise and there is also a requirement that one not eat at least half an hour before and after they do a yoga session.

Is there any such requirement for Namaz? Are there breath control techniques required for the same?

Obviously I don’t have much knowledge about Namaz. But yoga has multiple health benefits. Plus yoga means union of body and mind. Connecting with our soul..our Aatma.

The sitting posture in namaz is similar to Vajrasana. Plus bowing down while sitting in Vajrasana is another asan or a variation of Vajrasana. That's all i can think of....
