Jhanak S1 seems like exception because of how disgusting Leena thought process is. She is one of the pathetic ladies but nowadays other producers don't show this trope unless they have favoritism or personal tiff with main leads.

I was fine with her on the show. It’s not like I expected her to evaporate or disappear post the earthquake track. But I absolutely hated that they forced her on us with the surrogacy and the absolute nonsense that followed be it by possessed Ishita track or the stupid Ishita fights a crocodile for Shaggy track and obviously the best of them all - Shaggy moves in with the Bhallas post leap and gives birth to an exact xerox of Ruhi though she’s apparently born with Ishita’s egg and Raman’s sperm.

If they had kept her on the show but without these things I wouldn’t have been so annoyed because obviously unless she dies or leaves the country forever, she would have always remained a part of the show as the biological mother of Raman’s kids.

I was mainly replying for the fact that producers nowadays don't show leads having kids with other people. They refrain from it now. Rest Yeh cheating toh bahut common ho gaya hai due to lack of creativity.

Ekta changed this male lead having kids with different women trope from pavitra rishta I think. That show was the starting point along with tere liye. The couple be separated, emotionally confused or on verge of marrying different people but male leads or even female leads never had kids with other people . Bhagya series ,BALH and star plus shows from 2010 onwards like IPKKND , EHMMBH , Ishqbaaz all followed this trend. Even some of the new shows where male leads were emotionally confused and made female leads doormat like ghum ,Imlie never had them producing kid with other women.
