exactly that's why I say that while India and China have border issues are definitely we are in probably worst of times, but China isn't a civilizational enemy.

We are civilizational cousins. on the contrary many countries are our civilizational cousins

We are civilizational cousins with both iran and china. China and iran historically had less direct contact with each other, whereas india maintained contact with both. India heavily influenced chinese civilization, while in the case of iran, the influence was mutual, both india and iran shaped each other rather than it being a one way exchange.

It is sad that modern iran is not the same as the one with which we shared close ties in the past or could consider a brotherly civilization. In contrast, china still retains many of its civilizational aspects, even though a large portion of its population identifies as atheist.

As for southeast asia, india can be seen as a kind of civilizational parent figure, although china also holds a somewhat similar level of influence in the region.
