bold: this is not the place to discuss Gandhi and what his part is in how the partition happened. But I know for a fact that politics often change/try to change narrations relative to history including charismatic persons - to the better or the worse (depending on the politics) - especially through education material, films, books and speeches... So, it would depend on your sources and my sources and the own thinking, I suppose.

Yep. Not the place to discuss him.

All I will say is, the more I learn about him the worse he gets IMO.

For long liberals (or whatever one may want to call them) held this view that it's not the common Pakistanis but the ruling elite that sponsors terrorism. Their people are just like our people.. Doesn't Dhurandhar show the same thing.. ?? These people Major Iqbal, the gangs, the military establishment, government - aren't the the ruling class which is being shown as the sponsors of terrorism and crime within Pakistan and in India.. ?? So why this cry baby attitude ?? Did Aditya Dhar show common Pakistanis burning Indian flags, did he show Pakistanis breaking Hindu temples and idols, did he show Hindu girls being abducted, raped and converted... Did he show their crying parents and courts ordering not to return these girls to their parents ?? No, he did not show all of that.. It happens but he did not show it.. He only showed the ruling class to be bad .. So ideally there shouldn't be any problem...

Don’t you see. The problem is now being attributed to Americans. smiley37

Matlab inkey fully grown adults can be bought and brainwashed into Islamic terrorism / extremism. But wait. We are speaking of elites at the same time. What a conundrum.

As you pointed out, Dhar could not show all the ugliness. Their mass killings of Minorities would be a movie that would show way more tragedy than even Kashmir files.

This is why Dhurandhar metldown is happening. Absolute denial to face reality shown in the movie that is targeting the proven terrorism activity taken by Pakistan against India.

Movie dekh leeya ? I am waiting to see it a third time for more meltdown moments that will come up.

I just once pointed to the fact that it had been the ruling people that accepted terrorism flourishing in their country.

Ermmm... smiley24No that's not what I wrote.. I said forced conversion of minor girls, temple desecration, idol breaking, burning of Indian flags etc etc... happen in Pakistan, done by common people, either facilitated or turned a blind eye to by the ruling class, but the film does not show it.. The film kept its focus limited to the ruling class - ISI, Politicians, gangsters, terrorists, as per the reviewer I quoted, since I have still not watched the second part ... Since the liberal faction has always been of this opinion that only the ruling elite is the problem, the film should not be a problem for them.. In my view, however the common masses of Pakistan and well as the ruling class ranging from politicians, to military to their maulvis all are deeply problematic and a pain in the neck for India.. I am not someone who limits by criticism to the ruling class only. I very much extend it to the social and religious fabric of Pakistani society..

didn't want to jump in.

but all political parties in today's time are the same. they only want to earn money for themselves, live a lavish life and become powerful. they don't want to work for the nation. they want to be rich.

compared to today's politicians MK Gandhi, Nehru were legends. Gandhiji is not called father of the nation for no reason. he earned it. he was not just a politician, he was freedom fighter. better not to insult him in every thread. yes nobody is perfect. he might have some faults but way better than today's politicians.

Nai .. I will watch it on OTT... But that's what I am saying ... Even in the first part, the movie does not at all talk about the Pakistani society, although those people who turn into terrorists are not aliens ... They come from within that society.....

The only other funny criticism I have seen of this movie is that it's hyper masculine... smiley37 smiley37 Yaar woh ladne gaya hai ...... woh aadmi maarega nahi toh kya karega... smiley37

Remember our discussion from a few days ago. Urduwood aman ki aasba waali movies we are used to smiley37

They didn’t even comprehend that he had gone to kill and if I say more on this I will end up giving you a spoiler so I won’t.

Yes, I am proudly all those things you asked me about. I don’t believe patriots can divide a country, I live in a country where Muslims have repeatedly carried out attacks and genocides even pre-partition. I have had to see my own family suffer courtesy of Muslims; so I don’t give a damn about them.

I don’t care for labels that you might presume to attach with me because I don’t care about being politically correct when history and facts tell me everything that I need to know.

If you’re uncomfortable with the idea that a person may find Muslims as they’re then well that’s your choice; you can have it but I am free to make mine as well and mine is clearly in the lane opposite yours and shall stay there. If that makes me an Islamophobe or whatever per your analysis, so be it.

A man who can call a vile piece of trash a gentleman; while that thing that masked itself as a human being deserved to be ripped apart piece from piece for attacking innocents in my country doesn’t deserve my respect, adulation or love.

The other reasons - he’s a man whose stardom is practically over. He has always been a very limited actor in terms of range but what helped him was youth, connections and the hype created by his PR. He has some talent but he’s not by any stretch of the imagination a versatile actor.

His youth has faded, his connections can keep work coming but he has been exposed as a corporate fraud. He’s trying and failing spectacularly in his attempts to redefine and reinvent himself. He can’t pull off action roles, he can’t do period dramas and romance as a genre is no longer selling.

He’s seen that over the last few years the movies that have done spectacularly include Bahubali, RRR and now Dhurandhar, along with small budget movies that went onto become massive hits like Kantara. He’s not fit for any of those movies or similar. His future projects will never get the kind of organic success these projects got because they celebrated India and what we are as a country, people, culture in its various forms.

His era is gone. That’s a fact.

I know I don’t know anyone.

You have said everything any rational person would say.

Urduwood ka A R Rehman brought up religion (not us) and what a self goal it was. It exposed his entire life of stealing songs (art from others).

I am Charlie Hebdo ❤️ The Meltdown is Real and more to follow. Stay tuned

Actually today's population is thankless n knows nothing.

RSS was established before independence but they didn't participate in freedom struggle but they don't ask questions to them why😂 but ppl who fought for independence became villains today.

Those leaders have their own shortcomings but they fought against Britishers. Today's population can't even question their MP, MLA n PM.

Yami is in Dhurandhar the revenge. It is so clear that the movie has not given so many of us voices but to her too.

I also don’t drink. So I share her voice. Urduwood ke scandals go beyond drinking. Yeah meltdown to chaltey rahengey as we all get a lot of more of this nationalist pride and find our voices against not just this social things but unite against the terrorism from the neighbors. Woh kya hain na. Water cannot flow while blood flows.

I am Charlie Hebdo. ❤️. Stay tuned as it is clear the meltdowns won’t stop and the voices won’t either.
