More on the votebank, I guess (in April: Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal - and a lot more!)... the wording in the tweet is quite 'interesting' (as much as the timing of the Dhurandhar movies considering for what e.g. the topic maker uses them) smiley2 (apart from this, the current Congress-opposition is a big, big failure)

That India (already long before the current government came into power) sent spies into Pakistan to get to know about terrorist activities against India??? The story's content was set into another time as the real events that had inspired the movie ... no long thinking needed to guess why... and Ranveer, too, is a fictional character.

U s i n g the movie and its success to bring forward a hate for everything that has to do with Muslims/Islam... and further a divide in the forum... Yikes!

@bold: to educate people not to fall for sympathy - driven narratives/whitewashing/glorification of notorious criminals as Robin hoods/tragic heroes.

@red:
The way the narrative is showcased wasn't/isn't needed but seems to satisfy a certain 'atavistic bloodthurst' reigning since a while.”
how LOVEly it is. The LOVE you are showering for everything that has to do with the Government, it’s leader and the people who supports some of Government policies/measures,….. is so smiley27smiley42

Dear, I suppose that it is meant in a sarcastic way smiley2(I'm cool with that)... everybody here knows about my 'love' but still I can agree to some actions they do...

Here, it is about what is done in the thread. Btw, I have yet to say something negative about the movies... you won't find anything in this direction in the movie-threads from my side, yet compliments for the cinematic and performance prowess shown in Dhurandhar... also, I never called them propaganda not even when I wrote about the content.

However, I feel, that here (and elsewhere), the movies get mis-used for propaganda - in different ways... I despise that. That's why I contest so many of the topic-maker's posts.

Actually, even in Islam it wasn't a 'religious thing' but also due to societal norms... the Quran is also embedded in it's cultural context in the 7th century... only because it (allegedly) didn't get changes, their still are changes though interpretations.

It's not that I want to defend a religion, I want to show that is was something done in former times for other than religious reasons. It's to counter the new narrative propagated here in combination with the Dhurandhar movies...

the big difference between Islam and Hinduism is that in Islam there are rules that oppresses women. in so many Islamic countries women are suffering because of the religion itself, then there comes the other societal factors. I can not even imagine how women are living in countries like Afganistan.

but in Hinduism women have freedom. many are even opting to marry in their 30's or never getting married. which is not possible in Islam.

In India, patriarchy is the biggest problem IMO. but that is relevant in the whole world. even in countries like USA there is patriarchy. men love to control women. that is a mindset not part of religion.

Hence such huge meltdown is seen in this thread and everywhere

But I don't know where this religion thing came from.

Dhurandhar is a spy thriller not about religion. our Indian spies are making huge sacrifices everyday. the skin pulling scene in the first movie was horrifying. the way they get tortured if they caught. nobody can fathom.

White washing and glorification of notorious criminals was at its peak in Raees.

Dhurandhar has really exposed the real agenda, propaganda, mindset and loyaties of certain bollywood folks to the audience.

Hopefully due to movies like dhurandhar certain pakistan loving elements from bollywood will think twice before glorifying such dirty third grade gangsters.

There is a lot to learn for audience as well as film makers and stars to be loyal to the country they live in and cater to the domestic audience first n foremost.

I agree with you... for the bold part, one has to ask the threadmaker... already in his first post it was about religion.
