Who would have imagined that at the time of IPK? I have to say Barun has been very very smart in the way he has navigated his career.... Accurate understanding of his strength and weaknesses... and particularly fan of the scripts he has chosen to be a part of...

Yes I saw that Asmi… looks interesting and with Konkana helming it and Barun in it 
I remember one of his interviews ( was it around IPK, I think it was where he was very clear about the limitations of the soap medium… something like what can be said for endless episodes… he said it in a round about manner but his message was clear that the story cannot be sustained for the length of time the industry starts to make money so something has to give…
He was mighty clear about the script and writing being king… surrendering to the cause!!

I watched couple of clips of Taara via Social media...
And both the leads are giving such consistent performance i must say...Kanika is being really stiff and frozen...and she is making Taara so bland and dull...And Krushal in order to overcompensate is doing so much overacting...He was appearing really clingy and desperate in all the clips I saw....
Uff ..... I didn't expect anything better from the show but but..... Krushal...as I had said before he was PERFORMING intensity instead of feeling it ...He is not giving a good performance as Yuvraj as much as I have seen in the clips.
I am still flabbergasted that he chose to work with Leena again and that is also in a show like this...where it is visible what is gonna happen with his character

Asmi…About why he chose…. I would say he is probably more focused on visibility than anything else…his decision to stick to Leena after an admittedly poor treatment of character ( in his words) is again to do with the safety of known devil 😄 perhaps but whether it’s a strategy that helps his cause to stay relevant in this industry is something only time will tell…
ITV is getting irrelevant…ofc the population demographics might keep the medium relevant for sometime but it’s a dead place for male characters… largely. It’s not that great for female characters either but every now & then they may still get some fame… I don’t see that happening for male characters cos stories aren’t written for or about them..
So, this strategy is probably a kind of make hay while the sun shines… it’s just that many got taken in with all that talk of his being interested in doing great work etc so some feel the disappointment with the immediate choices 😄
on acting, etc my observation and this is after seeing a few scenes of Taara…
If Leena wanted to portray a well intentioned man but circumstances failing him… that’s just not working…if a grown assed man can’t assert his wishes about who he wishes to be married to after falling in love… the character just will not be relatable to anyone..Leena may want to keep the vagueness as a cover for meandering like all her plots that are stupid but while it worked in Jhanak for a while cos there was atleast some attempt at explaining the situationship of characters here nothing works becos it is NON STARTER FROM THE WORD GO
Yuvraj the character comes across as a coward as there’s just no justification for why a guy about to be married can’t state his preference in this day & age. This acceptance of fait accompli by Taara also seems very 80ish but even then the Raja Babas of the 80s showed more spine than what this Raja Babu does. 
His nervous looks when Tara is insulted in his presence or his lame acceptance of when his weak protestations are rebuffed only make the character unpalatable…and nothing to root for
There is no star crossed lover story here just a useless guy who has no ability to put the money where his mouth is…
So…all that so called “intensity” in fits and starts is comical. For a couple whose love is supposedly built on a familiarity from childhood, their relationship appears too formal or awkward… beginning with the Raja Baba nomenclature for Yuvraj..to how they talk to each other… their expected easy familiarity with each other just completely absent in the few scenes I saw… it appears forced!!
now on the acting…like I said in an earlier post, if the story intends to show a character (ML) who by nature is feckless ( or all bark and no bite), I would say Krushal is playing the part of a coward well 🤣🤣; except that his scenes with Kanika appear a bit forced lacking the natural ease two childhood lovers ought to have
As for Kanika…in the sense that for a girl who is shown aware of the class difference, her behaviour at other heady times suddenly lack the awareness) so it’s very silo like… I don’t have much of a comment on her acting cos there’s not much on display…in the little I saw
why can't they just end for it for once and all? its giving poor trps and star plus closed shows in the past with similar level of trps....what concoction is leena giving star plus? is this to save that upma and rishta show ultimately?Jhanak is being shifted to 11:30 to make space for Kyunki spin-off it seems
