M a strong believer in the fact that one can make a difference when alive. Anand couldn’t have survived coz cancer didn’t have a cure then. Don’t remember Deewar’s ending. Would’ve been happiest if Padmaavat’s ending and Rani’s fate would’ve been different with her enemies defeated.
Balidaan should be respected, hailed and revered but survival should also be celebrated. Maybe Jaskirat’s life has more purpose

Finally watched Dhurandhar 2, and it largely lives up to the expectations and legacy of the first part. It keeps you hooked for most of its runtime, with several moments delivering goosebumps. The multiple twists and turns further enhance the overall impact. However, the only drawback here is its excessive length, which starts to weigh the film down after a point.

The first chapter begins on a terrific note. The backstory of Ranveer Singh is executed very well. The massacre sequence that follows is absolutely spellbinding, leaving you stunned. The Aari song playing in the background elevates the intensity even further. Such raw and brutal violence is rarely seen on the big screen, and the entire sequence left me breathless.

The second chapter picks up from where the first part ended. The farewell to Rahnan Dakait and Ranveer’s eventual rise as the King of Lyari are engaging to watch.

Unfortunately, the film loses momentum after this point. The drama dips as not much happens, and the repeated violence starts to feel redundant. The overuse of the same cuss word also reduces its shock value. Even the big reveal of Bade Sahab fails to deliver the desired impact. While Dhurandhar 1 had a long first half, it never felt dragging.I didn’t check my phone even once. Here, however, I found myself repeatedly checking the time.

Thankfully, there’s a major twist just before the interval, where Ranveer comes face-to-face with his childhood fren which reignites the film’s energy. The intense sequence in the washroom after the interval is particularly gripping.

One of the major highlights of the film is its emotional depth. Ranveer returning to his family but leaving without meeting them is deeply poignant. The final twist is impactful and genuinely unexpected.

The film belongs entirely to Ranveer, who is in terrific form. He conveys so much through his eyes. His transformation from a simpleton to a feared gangster is portrayed brilliantly. This is arguably a performance of a lifetime, and he carries the film effortlessly on his shoulders.

Arjun Rampal is decent but pales in comparison to Akshay Khanna, who was far more menacing in the first part.Sanjay Dutt is underutilized, with an abrupt exit for his character.Sara Arjun shines in her brief role.Especially that scene where she has a last telephone conversation with Ranveer is heartbreaking.

The film could have benefited from tighter editing. It stretches unnecessarily and could have ended much earlier. The music is also somewhat underwhelming compared to the first installment.

Overall, Dhurandhar 2 is a well-made film with strong performances and impactful moments.

3.5/5

And I am willing to pay to watch this movie...smiley19 smiley36

What a beauty of a song....only one line played in the movie during their last phone call...

Their seperation was way too painful for me as well but i didn't expect anything else either. I went to watch D2 with a notion that either hamza or yalina would die in the process and i didn't even imagine them having a kid together.

But the way things played and the way their story shaped , actually made me kinda emotional. Yalina's love for hamza was beyond unconditional, i think agar zayan ke baat naa hoti toh yalina would have preferred to die rather than revealing hamza's cover .

Also the best part was that the love wasn't one sided, even tho hamza had his own ambitions but still he did love her a lot . The last phone call , him saying ki tumhare labon se akhri baar apna naam sun na chahta hun and his reaction when she calls him jaskirat was heart wrenching 🥺.

But somehow the ending of their story made sense to me , tho painful but something to cherish like the classic adhuri prem kahani.

And the song aakhri ishq is sooo damn addictive and the lyrics were just apt with respect to the situation in which it was used . Currently listening the song on loop .
