UPI is great but was not widely used until Covid lockdowns when cash withdrawal got harder and online purchases became more common. The goal of making currency llegal at midnight and from then on ,after announcing it at 8 pm was not to get people in Jhumrithalaiyya to download Paytm .

Nobodys back was broken. Terror attacks dropped for a while immediately afterwards due to a difficulty in withdrawing cash JUST LIKE the sale of vegetables and other crops dropped becsuse of a crash in prices. This ,when farmers. are already in debt and are committing suicide. The GDP dropped, more than a million jobs were lost ,the economy still hasn't quite recovered from the shock close to a hundred people dropped too, dropped dead waiting in lines to exchange notes.

RBI data shows more than 99 % of the notes came right back. Which means the black money is still where it is. It also cost billions to mint new notes all for nothing. And yet you sit there and claim it ' worked'. This is why they need propaganda because when there are no facts to back up their claims they need movie stars to tell STORIES about them and trick ppl on their behalf

Bombs aren’t exploding just like in the heart of bustling cities. We don’t have to watch our backs sitting in parks.

Earlier such acts were more, noise was less.

Read ? Read what though? The data from RBI says most of the notes came back. So what am I supposed to read now. Please share your sources that contradict everything I wrote above because sarcastic as I may have sounded, I would be really happy to know that it actually worked. Where is ' deeper '?

You said you tried to educate your friends and family on this and you eventually turned out to be right so that says you are knowledgeable on this. Why not just share it then?

Cases of terrorism have definitely gone down if you look at things like bombs going off in the middle of the street or planes getting hijacked. But that has to do with improvement in tech ,better coordination as a result and better surveillance through drones etc. It has nothing , absolutely nothing to do with demonetisation because for one the data that I mentioned says so and secondly word had gotten around long before it was announced. And terrorists don't just rely on giant suitcases of illegal tender. That's not how most of black money is stored.

Communal violence and violence against women are through the roof. Terrorism isn't only when a Pathan lunges out from under a black cloth wearing mascara chanting Allahu Akbar. In other words ...real life is not Bollywood.
