They never should've shown Aryaman having any past. It was never gonna work successfully in a show like Naagin. Because of two reasons.

1. Genre - Better play it safe and bring a mate for Naagin and stick to it. Show that loyality and devotion and soulmate connection are the pillars of their love. It suits with naag naagin lore, where nagas are fiercely loyal and monogamous till their partner lives . A snake remembers and chases you till they kill you ,if you kill their mate. And I'm just talking about normal snakes.

That's why in our rural areas ,there was a custom to not casually kill snakes or if you've accidentally killed one you must dispose the body away from your house and village so that it's mate couldn't find you. You can not bury or throw away the body. You've to burn it so that it's mate can not get your smell.

2. Format - It's an weekend format show ,where you get much less overall time compared to shows that are running for 6 days a week . Moreover, it's a web series type or seasonal format where you won't be able to run the show for hundreds and hundreds of episodes. You're always short on time. Even the longest running naagin seasons have 106 or similar number of episodes, which is nothing for a weekly show. It's not KKB ,where you can allot hundreds of episodes to build up the love track alone.

So, for the sake of simplicity it is better to show hero and heroine are each other's first love and they found a connection with each other. It worked for Rivanya superbly. They also gave them ample scenes to establish the romance.

If you had to show a past for the hero, fine , show it in a way that the hero never loved his ex actually. Show that it was superficial. You didn't have to go overboard with drinking non stop, crying all the time, moping, going into depression where your best friend is worried about you, going to your ex house every day to catch a glimpse of her. All these point towards a deep attachment and love that doesn't and shouldn't be re written or go away easily.

In IPK , Arnav had a gf but it was obvious there was no serious love between them. In Ishqbaaz , Shivaay had a couple of girlfriends but it was obvious they were his friends or business partners and he never loved them and was marrying them only out of friendship, comfort zone or business transaction. Omkara was in a live in relationship but he still always felt lonely, was afraid to fully commit and showed every sign he was never in love with her.

In Jassi jaisi koi nehi ,they showed Armaan having a fiance since his childhood but he never had any attachments, liking or a drop of loyality for Mallika and he actually hated her company and was avoiding her mostly. They also showed his friendship with Jassi for more than 200 episodes which established why and how she slowly burrowed into his heart and became his whole world. I still remember the absolute dopamine rush and devastating beauty of when he finally fell in love. Smooth as hell.

I can give hundreds of examples where they showed the hero having a past , even serious pasts but never was in love with their exs. Which means when they fell for their destined ones , it didn't come across as jarring or out of no where.

Now , if we talk about shows where they indeed had a serious first love , those shows had time to establish why and how the ML fell out of love or moved on and then fell for the FL. Their genres allowed that. Sometimes that had been their only major storyline.

Here in naagin , there are ten other things going on at any given time. It's just not possible to show how the 1st love was undone and second love creeped in a way that looks authentic and satisfactory.

In Laagi Tujhse Lagan, Dutta had a previous love and he was pretty serious about her . Afterall, her betrayal is what made him to become Dutta Bhau from Dutta. From human to killing machine. But it's absolutely magical how they built up his love story with Nakusha. Why they're soulmates. The deep conversations. The unconditional trust and friendship . How she brought out Dutta's inner human which only she could. It was an unforgettable journey.

Zee tv had an Iqbal Khan show called Sanjog se bani Sangini. The very theme of the show was second chance at love. Tagline was " Kaun keheta hai ki pyar dubara nehi hota ." The ML was shown to be madly in love with his childhood pyar who rejected him and got married to someone else and ML drowned himself in self pity and alcohol just like Aryaman. But two things. The show also introduced the FL and at first made her purely friends with the ML. Their friendship was laid down with great care and detailing and established as an essential part of Rudra's life. He went crazy for the fl a few times even during their friendship phase itself . So the foundation was already set. Love was just waiting to occur around the corner.

In naagin , they should have introduced Purvi and Aryaman as deep friends like Roma and Aryaman. Show how only Purvi stood by him during his difficult times for last five years. It'd have made so much sense for them to fall for each other in that scenario. Not just for Aryaman, but for Purvi as well.

I still find it super hard to believe or accept that Purvi fell for Aryaman just like that. It was nothing but harmonal locha for the haut guy and I firmly stick to that. Only reason it looks believable is Pri's amazing acting chops. She can convince pretty much anything she does on screen. Just one of those powerful actresses.

Bottomline, don't show second chance at love if you do not have time , patience, energy and willingness to work the talk. Right now, I'm zero excited and basically super annoyed to know Aryaman has fallen for Ahana. Why should that be ? Fans always wait with bated breath for the other lead to fall in love in shows where they've a prolonged one sided love by either ML or FL. I was super excited and holding my breath when Sneha finally started falling for Sidhu whereas Sidhu had been in love with her throughout the duration of the show.

I find Aryaman's love merely an inconvenience . I'd much other he accepted Radhika's proposal and both left the show together so that our naagin could have a fresh start.

What's the value of a Casanova's love? Even when the show ends with them happily together, you'll always have that niggling voice telling you what if another girl comes and the hero moves on again in a month or so.

Also in the beginning of the serial they said that the dragons are naag and naagins own blood and are jealous of them as they didn't get the power to shape-shifting so maybe in the future episodes we would also see that how come they are shape shifters

Arya ko pyaar, mohabbat, shaadi, stalk karna, daru peena sab khel lagta hai he has made a mockery out of everything. Flowerpot roles also have better characterization than him. Ek sacha pyaar ka trait tha usme, one woman man kinda, woh bhi ruin kar diya inhone.

I also liked that scene because I've been saying since long that aryaman needs a closure on radhika and that would only happen when they'd have a confrontation scene -- I too was so defending Aryaman during his Radhika jaap phase that he just wants closure to move on.. and why on earth to fall out of love with your past one must be in love with someone else that i dont understand, anyways they ruined already

For the audience who are SURPRISED SHOOKETH that Aryaman's love is too fickle... Unreliable... weird...pathetic.

I said this weeks ago, because he's not a man and he didn't love like a man, or even a decent intelligent woman. His behaviour was that of a teenage brat, in almost every aspect he showed that consistently. Him crying screaming drinking in front of radhika' house wasn't just pain, it's teenage boy's entitlement.

I've seen people in love, people after breakups. People after divorce. People who've had fairytale romances and then broke up. I know people who tried to end their life after breakups. None of them included stalking their ex for 5 years. You can fundamentally change yourself, people can become completely aloof, depressed, become something new, can do 180 on their views on love relationships or marriage... But after 5 years they get clarity. They're not like //I HaTe wOmEn// and //oh would you come to me//.

Honestly ITV isn't that mature, or intelligent to grasp that accurately but we still had some great examples of how a past betrayal works.

In Geet they established that someone betrayed Maan and that made him into who he is today, and he's something you can understand. He's scarred by it but he also grew up. Aryaman crying screaming stalking was literally pathetic shit because HOLY F DUDE you're almost 30. This response might make some sense if you're 15. The fact that teenage nibbis found it "awwww heartbreak" doesn't really make it ok. If a 30 year old man did this shit I'd puke.

And that 30 year old man got over his love in 30 days. To bhai , itna natak keu kiya ?

So what's the guarantee he won't move on from Ahana once her sister or someone else enters in his vicinity ?

Now I understand why he didn't fall for Purvi and fell for Ahana. But that I can not say in open forum, though it's true .

Purvi needed a glam up and clothing upgrade . That's it.

Honestly THIS, because he'd way better mutual understanding with purvi than ahana. They're not friends but she's genuinely someone with whom he got along outside his family. W Ahana it's never been anything.

Bharani didn't need to do all that to separate them, if she'd come topless in front of arya she'd have become his mohabbat and could have killed him easily
