I think the show has run longer than what they initially intended. Season 2s have always turned into giant ratings flops. There are many such cases: Balika Vadhu, Simar, Saathiya, BALH, Sasural Genda Phool, and Tu Suraj Main Saanjh Piyaji (Diya Aur Baati 2). Kasautii did well for some time but then dropped.

​Second innings generally do not work. But Kyunki, despite airing past 10:40 pm and the schedule butchering by Star Plus, defied history and is consistently number 1.

​The Smriti magic is still there. But how long is she going to agree to continue?

And btw, they could easily hit 3.0 If not for their lazy cvs.

I am glad that Kasauti2 flopped. Trying to ride on the success of OG Kasauti is not right. Could’ve just named it something else

Gr8 EK did not think of having Kyunki without Smriti. Show would have been an epic disaster instead of blockbuster.

I think season 2 is a hit because Ekta brought in all her stars that made the season 1 a blockbuster.

Afaik, except for Saathiya 2, none of the season 2s had the original actors starring in them.

Kasautii 2 was 💀 — I like Erica but she’s definitely no match for Shweta’s talent.
