He didn’t get 200 crores. He probably got 40-50 crores as alimony or even lesser than that. But don’t forget he has been stealing from them for years. We already saw Munni state that the equipments were purchased for the company at higher rates than market prices and the goods/raw materials were sold at cheaper rates than market value.

He has clearly been cooking the books. We don’t know exactly how much he has stolen in 6 years and if it will be recovered or not.

He said he would buy the company of the Viranis from the money he got from the Viranis themselves. Then he mentioned paying off the initial 25 percent of the amount from the alimony he got. Essentially say his dad had won that bid at 200 crores, Ran would have been given a time limit of say 1-2 weeks to pay the bank at least 25 percent of the same so that the bank is assured that he was a genuine bidder who has the funds to show for his seriousness regarding the deal.

So, 25 percent of 200 crores is 50 crores. He could pay that from the alimony. The rest could then be paid off in slabs within 3-6 months by negotiating with the bank either in 3 instalments of 25 percent each at regular intervals or a one shot payment within a certain period allotted to him by the bank.

He probably has some of that money from the frauds he committed. He probably figured he could get more by the order that would come his way once Tulsi failed to deliver hers as the next company to win the second spot. He also perhaps felt he could extract even more money from the Viranis themselves by making them an offer - Garu’s custody goes to Pari permanently for another 50 crores.

Perhaps he’s even in talks with some investors for partnerships, who knows.

Point is, he can get the money by some means but he wants to oust the Viranis from their own business by taking it over effectively as the new owner and hence didn’t help them even if he could. He knows that he can establish his own company with that money too but establishing brand value is not something that he can simply buy or cheat off of the Viranis. The brand name now being owned by him wouldn’t matter to the clients, because the brand value is what matters. If he tries establishing a company called Singhs, then he may work his butt off but by the time it reaches the same kind of credibility and market value as the Viranis he would be long dead. Remember, the company is called Govardhan Virani Group. It was established by Mihir’s grandfather, so it’s now essentially a legacy company established at least a century ago.

Ran wants that brand name for himself by essentially putting in no hard work.

Alimony is decided by court. They have not offered it to him by themselves. Also we don’t know if he’s been paid yet or not because Tulsi did say that they would approach High Court for the custody so maybe they will take up the alimony amount as well. If they can prove Ran committed fraud within the company after he was appointed to a position as Pari’s husband, even given some shares as well, then the verdict changes.

Ran then is not seen as some aggrieved party being compensated for his 6 years of hard work and labour he did for the Viranis as their SIL but is rather booked under criminal laws for fraud amongst other charges relevant to his case. His bank accounts and assets are seized and frozen by the courts pending investigation and then in due course they may be returned to the Viranis again once the charges are filed and Ran is proven guilty by whatever investigative team is assigned the case.

But for that Ran’s involvement has to be proven in fraudulent activities against the company as a shareholder himself. It can then be established he had trapped Pari and manipulated her into the relationship from Day One with the goal of stealing from her family by taking advantage of their daughter.

Garu’s custody is then automatically given to Pari as well. Especially if his parents are also booked under the same criminal charges as him and it’s discovered that they too were co-conspirators and beneficiaries of the fraud committed by their son by getting their bank statements, gold and other jewellery evaluated as well as any properties purchased under their names and other assets like shares, mutual funds, FDs, etc. in their names paid off by Ran.

They were a legit conglomerate with numerous businesses but we don’t know what is the case here currently. In the first season they owned a mall, textile mills, construction business, import export, an investment firm and various properties.

When Mihir’s dad Mansukh dies his will is read out. In it he leaves a farm house/villa at the outskirts of Mumbai to Savita. I think it was mentioned as being in Panvel but I could be wrong. Mansukh said he spent his entire youth building up the business his dad started so that his children might enjoy, but in the process he didn’t give her enough time. He meant to stay there post retirement with her. Died the night he retired in his sleep iirc.

He left some flats in a posh Mumbai area - Malabar or Pali Hill to Mihir and Tulsi. A bungalow in Pune to Kiran. Gold, silver and diamond collections to Shobha. His shares in the various companies owned by the Viranis to Gautam, Harsh and Ansh wherein they got one company each. Can’t remember exactly which ones. Karan got the biggest share in his will as he left all the major businesses to him to manage as well as his stake in Shanti Niketan itself. Gautam and Ansh were furious and wanted to challenge the will in court by stating Karan had a fake one made that was too biased towards him but the lawyer was competent enough that he made it clear to them that the will was not a dupe and Karan had not manipulated him at all.

So yeah, they had lots of businesses so it’s a bit baffling how they can be broke if only one is in losses enough to make them want to mortgage SN as well.
