Maya tried to kill jhanvi thrice and jhanvi was paralysed for a long time.So tit for tat.
I didn't feel that arjun abused maya through out.he went against his family to support maya during the rape case.slapping saanjh for maya was a guilty pleasure for all maya fans including me.but post 2 years leap his behavior towards maya was horrible.but maya too made the world believe that he used to abuse her physically but in actual she was hurting herself.
I used to hate arjun when he wanted to divorce maya because of her controlling nature and over possessiveness.but after she killed his mother ... trapped his brother in fake rape case.. causing his accident I can't blame him for hating her.
Everyone felt that arjun married saanjh only to hurt maya as a revenge for killing his mother.Otherwise he didn't love her the way he loved maya.
Arjun killing maya was the worst punishment to all arya/maya fans.i couldn't sleep properly after that ending.saanjh getting arjun and a baby was unbearable.I have never hated any character like i hated saanjh though technically she was not negative. But she was obsessed like maya.
I never could quite get into either season of the show though I find Jenny quite good as an actress because honestly, the male leads opposite her were so blah both times.
I couldn’t imagine anyone getting obsessed with them let alone a diva like Maya played by someone as gorgeous as Jenny.

From what I have heard KVB’s character in Saubhagyavati was a villain and for the makers too? In Saubhagavati show the other characters were actually positive and innocent as I watched that show for some time. But in Beyhadh Maya was grey per makers. Makers till the end said her character was grey. They also said how they were worried if she will be accepted by audience, how they worked hard for her to be accepted and were happy with the response. So I think that’s why she was written in a way the audience feel for her as she was grey, but the other characters were not positive. On papers or just looking at them others seemed positive, but if one watches show most of them were crazy and for me worse than Maya. They were very unlikable
Oh Viraj was unhinged. KVB played him so well he honestly freaked me out. Man is that good at playing slightly eccentric characters
I remember watching the wedding night scene of Viraj and Jahnvi played by Sriti Jha. A cockroach ends up on their wedding bed and she’s scared. A normal human being would shoo the cockroach away, perhaps even kill it… Viraj EATS the damn thing for scaring his new bride!
Made me wanna puke as soon as I saw that and I knew he was even more cuckoo than I thought he would be.
He even managed to make a song like Hume Tumse Pyar Kitna (recently sung by Mihir in that Antakshari scene) become this absolute beast of a trauma inducing nightmare.
The moment he started humming or singing that you knew something absolutely awful and batshit crazy was about to go down. Poor Jahnvi legit would’ve got PTSD by just the mention of that song if she were a real person. I think in the show she does it too but it’s never clinically diagnosed and stated.
The thing is if makers are sure of keeping their main character negative but write them in such a way that they’re engaging as well as played by a powerhouse of an actor/actress they need not worry about people finding the character relatable.
No one exactly relates to Walter White but people find his wife, Skylar, an innocent woman married to a criminal capable of murder and so much more worse than him all because she comes across as nagging him. And what might you say constitutes for nagging? Her appeals to him to stop this life of crime and not put himself and his family in harm’s way.
That’s where the difference comes in. It’s all about the mindset. Don’t care if your character is relatable or not. Make sure they’re phenomenal and nothing else matters.
I mean look at Rahman Dakait played by Akshaye Khanna in Dhurandhar. People love him. He’s not even playing a good person’s character but it’s the acting combined with the nuanced writing. For example, he’s such a monster but when we are introduced to him he’s a grieving father who has just lost his young son and who lets his wife slap him in public in that hospital. He doesn’t raise his hand at her in retaliation, doesn’t so much as scream at her for it. Because he is shown as a father who understands in that moment that’s not his wife but the mother of his child hitting him in her grief, rage and devastation.
He knows that even she knows that amongst the two of them, only he will have the satisfaction of actually physically punishing their culprits who killed their son. But they’re both mourning, both in pain, and suffering. He will have his revenge and his anger will finally subside even if the loss and pain never will. But where does that leave his wife? Even she’s angry and hurting, she wants revenge too. She’s also blaming him for this situation because it’s his rivalry that got their son killed.
So he lets her have this… the only act of physical violence she’s capable of unleashing on the only person who understands her pain and suffering as well as the only person she knows she’s got a right over so wholly. That’s why even women are going gaga over the way relationships are shown in Dhurandhar.
Ranveer’s Hamza comes home after 26/11 and he’s immediately accused by Yalina of sleeping with another girl, then slapped by her after she yells at him. He calmly tells her that he won’t have her questioning him but if she can hold her questions, she’ll be the only woman in his life. No yelling, screaming, threatening or abuse of any form on a woman even though we have seen this man capable of such shocking and disturbing violence. Even as he’s giving her basically an ultimatum in that scene in response.
It all comes down to writing, acting but it must start with conviction. TV show makers need that big time in India to make nuanced characters and phenomenal shows.
He just didn’t have sex with Saanjh but did everything. Lots of too closed/inappropriate Hugs, Holi celebrations which was meant for husband and wife, Saanjh trying to kiss him, inappropriately dancing with Saanjh, meeting her late at nights without telling Maya, later him proposing Saanjh and saying ILU to her despite him still being married to Maya. Those few saajun fans lived in their own reality. Yuck to even compare disgusting characters like these 2 with pure characters like rahul Anjali. Anjali left as soon as she found out rajul loved Tina. She didn’t interfere in married couple’s life for her obsession. I still remember saanjh going all the way to another city just to stalk Arjun maya to propose Arjun. All her life she could propose him but girl went crazy only when she found about Arjun wanting to propose maya. She could never move on. I remember many of us joked that she will be present during their SR too, and makers showed her during those moments too. She was hiding under Maya Arjun’s bed while they were having love moment. She had to hear all about it. Girl had no shame. Arjun had to slap her for her to get out from their life for few years. She was given family and everything, but instead of being thankful she just wanted Arjun. Lost her best father in her obsession for Arjun. Then when she got him she became obsessed with wanting a baby. She always wanted something she couldn’t have. That show had too many sick characters.Originally posted by: jasminerahul
Technically arjun hasnt cheated maya.he didnt have affair with saanjh. But he was too much into his bestie instead of drawing a line.saajun fans called them rahul anjali.
No wife can tolerate the closeness the husband has with with his best friend.there maya was right.
Jhanvi had left ashwin after her childhood birthday to support maya.but later again she got blinded by his fake love.i hated jhanvi because she herself tried to kill ashwin to protect maya on her wedding day.But later when she found out that maya tried to kill ashwin she made a huge drama. It was horrible.
Among the so called positive characters I only liked Ayaan as he genuinely accepted Maya but became a collateral damage between Maya and Vandana. I could understand his anger towards Maya and couldn’t blame him until the time when Maya was pregnant and he kept trying to trigger her. Still I could feel for him somewhat even though I hated what he was doing Maya. I still didn’t understand that rape scene because which dewar behaves that way with bhabhi for a key? He couldn’t get a key so he was basically willing to tear Maya’s clothes for it? Then he kept saying he did nothing when he did. He may have not intended to rape Maya but the way he behaved with Maya felt like he was willing to do anything to get the key to save his brother from his so called crazy wife who he lived with for years.
And I loved Samay too. He was such an entertaining character 🤣🤣 At least he was loyal and willing to do everything for Maya. Wish Maya chose him
I watched some episodes of Sa Saubhagyvati Bhava when it aired. KVB was great. His character was terrifying. I felt so bad for Sriti’a character, but that show was so suspenseful that you still wanted to watch the next episode despite all the cruelty shown. I think that’s why the trps was high for that show. I never felt scared of Maya though. She was more of sad character that I felt extremely bad for. She was entertaining and all, but we would feel so bad if anything bad happened to her. I hated seeing her in pain 🤣 I didn’t watch Dhurandhar yet. Will watch it once it comes on Netflix. Heard it’s very good. Can’t wait. Agree itv needs nuanced characters big time.Originally posted by: EkPaheli

I also loved samay.but after they showed their past where samay was creepy i lost interest in him.

Khushal was bad, but the ml from Beyhadh2 was good. The actor was better, the chemistry was better and the character was so much better too than Khushal’s character. I just watched that show for Maya, the character. I wasn’t a fan of Jenny, but I liked her performance as Maya. After Beyhadh I found out that she played Sneha too. I loved the adult Sneha since childhood but somehow never registered that it was played by Jenny until years laterOriginally posted by: EkPaheli

Yeah I hated Samay for that too. But later in my mind I tried to ignore it as what Arjun did was so bad that I could even take Maya choosing him over Arjun. Best option would’ve been Maya choosing none, stop her craziness and going away to live her life. She was so beautiful and intelligent but wasted all for Arjun. She just suffered and suffered. I hated those jail scenes. I had to stop watching the show during that time. That’s why in the end I wanted her to die. First, because she did kill someone innocent in the end so she deserved to die. Second because I wanted her suffering to finally end and have peace. It’s not like she ever had any happiness in her life. So death was better for herOriginally posted by: jasminerahul
