India have done well to pull things back after a threatening start from New Zealand. At the halfway mark, the visitors were cruising at 111/3 and looked set for a 220+ total, but things unraveled for them after the drinks break as they eventually had to settle for 208. Conway and Seifert gave New Zealand a flying start, each taking 18 runs off Arshdeep in his first two overs. India, though, responded well to strike back and remove both openers inside the powerplay. Rachin then kept the momentum going, finding support in Phillips and Mitchell, but the middle overs proved decisive as all three were dismissed by the 13th over. Santner provided the late push with a crucial cameo, dragging New Zealand past the 200-mark and giving them something to bowl at. There’s plenty of dew around and the ball is coming nicely onto the bat, so conditions should aid the chase, but India will still need a solid batting effort to get over the line. Back soon..
