KI: "The Ba*ds of Bollywood is a successful Netflix series, having been a top-rated and widely-watched show for the platform, including reaching the top 5 non-English shows globally. It has also received a strong positive reception in India, where it was the most-watched streaming original during the week of its release, and has trended worldwide. ... Whether Bads of Bollywood is overhyped depends on individual perspective, but many critics found it entertaining with a fresh concept."

So, if a member finds TBOB overhyped or not, it's nothing but a personal (and not a general) opinion smiley16

Personally, I've no opinion about other Hindi/Indian webseries as I haven't watched them and also don't follow those rating systems.

"Ba***ds of Bollywood: Manufactured hype?"

Honestly, I don't think so... after seven weeks there still are interesting contributions and comments... one of them with Aryan at work:

So I tried revisiting this stupid junk recently and man…it was still as unbearable! No wonder this crappy show not only flopped but it has also been forgotten as well!

TBH its a mediocre show, I can't stand Raghav. I liked Mona, Bobby and Rajat Bedi. The show was hyped alot on instagram, I have seen better shows on free platforms with not so popular actors. Red chillies main objective of this series was to wash Aryan's image & portray him as some extremely talented director to lookout for. There are lot of speculations too saying Aryan didn't direct the full show but a professional director did all the work and Aryan's is given the credit. I won't be surprised if this is true.

Contrary to you, I would be very much surprised. Aryan has learned the craft and took his time to make a thorough work. In addition all the actors in the interview marathon would have lied heavily when speaking about him and how he worked.

Aryan also talked with other directors, watched them work, asked for advice, had an experienced crew, discussed things with his father... he also grew up with RedChillies, worked in the different departements. I think, the allegations of a ghost-director are done out of a negative bias. There had been none.

I find it quite unfair to demean the honest work someone put into something that entertained a lot of people just because one can do it without going face-to-face or a shred of proof.
