Well… the show is based on Muslims so this is a very normal thing in their culture. They practically even get married to their uncles. I remember there was this really viral clip of a woman from Pakistan who was married to her own Mama. She was laughing when she said she went from calling him Mamu Jaan to Jaan. The show is problematic to us because to us this isn’t just acceptable but they practice it. Frankly I don’t think I’ll follow the show ever because I find Parth very mediocre as an actor but if they’re showing this stuff then they’re gutsy enough to show the world that is true to the community that their characters are shown from.

I'm also a Muslim but from a different community/ caste. If you're living in India you would have heard about the Dawoodi Bohra community. Well, I belong to this community. We're very progressive where there's no discrimination between a son and daughter and the daughter is allowed to pursue her dreams and this is not only in her family but even her in - laws family too. The daughter in law is allowed to study as well as go out and work. Thankfully we don't have multiple marriages. If you don't know about my community you can Google and check out.

Prophet Mohammad had many wives and He married these women for many valid reasons. One of the main reason was to protect them from evil eyes. But, these people want any lame reason to marry again and again. It's disgusting.
