Well said. Never thought I would say this, but I have to admit Vanar did humanity a favor by keeping Upmaa limited to the kitchen and household work. If Upmaa had continued going to college after marrying Vanar, she would have made professors lose their jobs with her useless lectures, acting as if she knew everything. No woman would ever feel jealous of Upmaa because she has never done anything special in her life. Instead, women would feel ashamed of her choices. She failed to use the second chance at love and life she got after marrying Trashnuj. Upmaa carried her toxic Tamashah baggage into her second marriage and ended up destroying Rahi’s life. Upmaa is a perfect example of how not to live your life.
Upmaa was never very talented, yet she got many chances in her professional life to prove herself. But she was never willing to put in the effort to succeed in any of her ventures. Instead, she chose to become a helpless doormat to the trashy Tamashahs. In her personal life, she failed as a mother, failed as a wife (to Trashnuj), and failed as a mother-in-law. Prarthna, the next-gen Crinjal, seems to have received full training from Upmaa on how to become a proper doormat to the Tamashahs.
Makers of this show are hellbent on proving Vanar right. What exactly did Vanar make UpMaaa do that she's not doing now in herself? He wanted UpMaaa to be a free TamaShah maid her whole life. That's exactly what she has become. That's the only role she has done sincerely and never given up. Even decades after divorcing Vanar, she's still doing what he wanted. At least when she was married to Vanar, other people were safe from her evil clutches. After her divorce, she has made it her life's mission to destroy as many lives and families as possible.
