I had been pondering how to get my views across on this Hrithik Munni thing since last night but somehow couldn’t find the right words until now… and I have to write what I feel about them not as a shipper/fan but as someone who finds them this track is absolutely leaving a sour taste in my mouth especially with the way they’re handling this.

I don’t understand the point of having a song sequence for them. They could have simply shown these two share an eye contact, low or no music as Hrithik remembers his harsh words while Munni’s shown approaching him. Then she asks him if they can talk and the same discussion can happen leaving Hrithik dazed and like he talked with a long lost friend again after ages. A friend who was concerned about his well being… and then he could’ve simply thought how strange it is he got more sympathy, pity and concern from a girl he hadn’t spoken to in nearly 6 years after treating her so badly than he did from his own wife.

The scenes between Hrithik Munni are already hard to watch so I don’t even know how to root for them. And I feel absolutely nauseated thinking that they’re going for a sasta YHM track with these two by including Timsi with Mittali being their in-house Shaggy counterpart.

Timsi needs a better mother, no doubt about it. Hrithik could use a better wife too… but I don’t see why should Munni be a scapegoat for these things when neither her pairing with Hrithik comes across as something palatable nor do I feel her bond with Timsi will change my mind about it and I say this as an absolute YHM addict who got suckered into watching that show all because of that cutie patootie Ruhi and her chemistry with Ishita and Raman!

Had the writers shown Hrithik Munni meeting with each other frequently wherein Hrithik one day just ends up talking to her about things like he might have years ago before realising their equations have changed… and then been shown pondering why is it that he can talk about anything with Munni even now so easily, so freely and feel like he’s genuinely found someone who listens and understands… I could have perhaps been fine with their pair.

But here Hrithik’s change of heart is entirely based on the change in her circumstances which makes this so gross to watch.

Had the genders been flipped, and Munni been the rich girl who rejected Hrithik only to find herself drawn to him now that he seems not only successful but perhaps even a more stable and brighter prospect than her own family whose financial situation is rocky, it would’ve taken no time for people to call her an opportunist, a gold-digger.

The only thing that can make their track palatable to me is not if it ends with Hrithik marrying Munni and finding his happily ever after with a wife he now feels he deserves and a daughter he loves but if Munni gets her closure and can move on from him. It’s clear she still carries a torch for him… but they shouldn’t be together.

If Tulsi’s self respect and integrity are so important to show to the audience, to empower women then I feel the same courtesy should be extended to Munni too.

Munni shouldn’t sacrifice her self respect and dignity at the altar of a man who is so shallow that he can fall for her seemingly in no time just because she’s now a collector.

Exactly

Munni became manjuri, this is why ritik likes her

Munni deserves better.

I dont think she has to be a glorified nanny for timsi.

YHM was very different.

Ritik probably married mitali as a rebound as Mitali was rich and classy and educated.

Idk but ritik is not looking for true love,he is looking for someone who fits his classy standards

Angad loved vrinda for who she was.Ritik is actually running behind Vanity.

Funny how one scene can have different perspectives. I will start with I am a Munni and Ritik shipper, please do not assume that means I am not a feminist or whatever. I like to enjoy the show for what it is unless its sending a wrong message to society, MunRik caught my attention from the start. From all their scenes I have not gotten the vibe that Ritik is attracted to Munni or seeing her as a potential replacement to Mitali, I dont think the thought has crossed his mind. The song used in the episode today wasn't overly romantic if you listen to the words it could be used for a friend which Ritik and Munni were for a long time. Ritik is mesmerized by her in the sense because she became something, he is proud, and embrassed at where they both stand in life right now. Munni isn't looking for love with Ritik either she has a soft spot for him because she knows him and his vulnerabilities and to know that he tried to harm himself because he is so broken probably evokes sympathy in her. You have to understand they were close friend before the love angle came in Ritik shared his thoughts and secrets with her and to be honest Munni made a mistake to she fished Ritik by using social media and planning dates and not showing up. While I dont necessarily condone Ritik's harsh words to Munni, him feeling betrayed was valid.

For now I think they are handling it well by keeping it subtle, Munni is not shocked by the fact that he has a daughter, Ritik is not dreaming about being with Munni. I think if they keep the track as Munni and Ritik becoming friend and Ritik keeping his emotions in check and knowing that Munni deserves better it should be good.

I want them to be end game, but that is because I dont see why two people should suffer cause of a mistake that they made in their early twenties. As long as Ritik proves himself to be a man of morals and they naturally pull toward each other, their storyline can be handled beautifully.

At this point I don’t even understand why he married Mittali but I think Munni deserves to be treated like she’s worth being loved only because she’s successful.

Feminism isn’t even something that crossed my mind when I made this post.

I simply don’t like the treatment of the track. It doesn’t matter if the song played can be interpreted as a song for friends or not; what matters is that they don’t need a song right now at all. If you step into the EDT you will notice that I’m not the only one who is not a fan of the treatment of this track between the two. The unanimous opinion is the same. This feels rushed, unearned and disorienting.

I wouldn’t mind them together but at this point I don’t know exactly what is it that should make me want to root for them beyond a friendship they had 6 years ago and her crush on him.

i don't want munrik.

Ritik is only going to love munni since she is successful and probably want her to take care of timsi.

Munni is far better without ritik.
