Our Vedas have clearly mentioned castes as a function of society with changing eons aka Yuga. Infact, during Satya Yuga ,there was only one caste aka hansa ( meaning pure or same with bramhan ) and all human beings fell under this one category.
Our Vedas have always clearly mentioned all human beings are born with their souls being part of divine soul and what they'll be born as is decided by their Karma of previous birth , therefore attaching supreme importance to how one lives the life rather than what life they're born into.
But now that we're in topic of castes , let's talk about Shia and Sunni too, a burning topic that is a bloody problem in every single nation where they're majority and by bloody, I mean literally resulting in violence and bloodshed endlessly.
Polygamy is literally not allowed anymore by law anymore. In ancient times, it was only allowed for men as there were far more number of women in reaching and crossing eligible age for marriage than men owing to the risky nature of work bestowed on men . Far more women would reach their 30s than men . If men were not allowed to marry multiple women, most women would not be able to have a marriage at all resulting in havoc. Even then most common people would marry once and King Ram Chandra even made it a point to follow ek patni vrat inspite of having many opportunities at different points of his life.
The moment that number disparity of men and women vanished , so did vanish the requirements of polygamy and so did the custom itself vanished from society.
That's the beauty of our religion. It self corrects socially as it follows the natural flow of changing time and gives importance to such change by encouraging modifications according to desh , kaal , patra ( Vedas clearly said change according to the place, time and person you're with ) a revolutionary modern idea even ahead of today's time.
I know of faiths where you can not change a single word of it no matter how much time changes. Not us though. We change with time. Seeking newer paths is infact an essential process of our dharma.
While the core tennets of our way are unchanging and eternal as it strictly talks about only the relationship between human soul and divine soul and the ways to achieve connection between both.
But yes go on saying nonsense about it because it's easy and cheap.
