Damini, Ghatak, Arjun Pandit, Ziddi, Indian etc. His stardom never faded, Action just went out of Vogue. Now that it's back, so is he.

As for Darr, the negative character always walks with all the praise. Just how it works. No different than what's happening with Akshaye and Dhurandhar or Shahid & Padmaavat or Kareena & Aitraaz or Akshay & Dhadkan etc etc etc.

But the box office Success was because of Sunny's stardom. Anjaam, a similar film, bombed badly right after. Besides even SRK has said Darr is Sunny's film and he only has 18 scenes in it.

Bold: check your facts first, Shahid was not doing negative role in Padmavat, that was Ranveer Singh, also same for Aitraaz- Priyanka Chopra instead of Kareena Kapoor and Dhadkan- Suniel Shetty instead of Akshay Kumar.

Sunny never held a grudge against SRK. His problem was with YRF. Before anyone else came on board, he was offered both roles and he knew the negative character was the better role. His issue was that they kept changing the script whether cutting his scenes, Navy officer stabbing and even the climax. The original climax had Juhi killing Shahrukh. But they wanted to glorify the stalker.
