But really at what point do you draw the line? So 19.9999 is not ok because they are teens and 20.0001 is alright because they are not teens? I would say just go with whatever the govt has set and in India's case it is 18. But maybe the girl was unaware of it.

Yeah but are you sure she is not 18? Some kids turn 18 final year of high school. Also the school photo could have been older photos too. Maybe she told kartik that she was 18. Anyway how will they file this case though? Does the girl even want to appear on court because laws in her country are different.
