This is actually a great business idea. A lot of footage gets scraped at the editing table. Why not make another film out of it. Recovery is a lot easier and you can even extend the budget, not to mention logistics are a lot easier with all the cast avaliable.

Dhuruandhar has started a trend. A lot more filmmakers, especially ones like SLB, who like creating drawn out Epics will definitely be on board.

well it is expected for other films to follow dhurandhars trend of completing shooting and then splitting it into 2 films

But it is also a big risk, because if the first part isn't liked or doesn't do well, then that's a huge loss as the second part will also not do well. The first film has to be very good in order for this to work.
