The show started with Cheerharan and I remember every news channel worth their salt got interviews from people of the OG Mahabharata and even common folks.

It was trashed relentlessly by everyone with no mercy and every single criticism was valid and warranted after her claims that she spent crores, had her actors trained in horse riding, archery etc. No one cared about the training of anything when the show felt more like a cheap attempt to make Gladiator or Xena with the script and story of Mahabharata.

Anita was so bad at playing Draupadi you couldn’t even be outraged on her behalf. Rupa Ganguly’s true successor was Pooja Sharma in that regard.
