Firstly I want to thank you so much for making this post, if you hadn't done it, then I would have. Gosh those were some days… those beautiful memories… I was reliving those old episodes…when they actually behaved like doctors and not some immature bunch of people with a mission in hand, when they can barely look after themselves.
Those were the glorious days when they actually had patients who actually had an illness, and was not just there to bring the main lead together or to bare witness to some more eye locking and falling scenes. The interns could actually be called interns, though the fun and frolic was still there, but the show showed some sensibility. For example Sheila devi's case that Anjie handled, the first case of that lady that Ridz and Armaan had an argument about, Sapna's case of Mr Rathore, Atul's interaction with his patients; the Aids ward incident, the tree incident- when he told the guy off for putting the cigarette out, Armaan and Minnie's interaction. This is making me so nostalgic, gone are those days. Those small incidents were able to portray such strong messages, that one still remembers them and can reflect upon those issues.
Internship is meant to give you practical experience so one becomes a better doctor, which showed in the earlier episodes with Ridz being sent out off OT, when she hesitated to stitch a patient up. But here, they seem to be taking a plunge in the opposite direction. When will the Indian television industry learn; inspired by Grey's anatomy (I am sure that's what was being said when this programme started) but I regretfully have to say, it started off with a bang, then like a phooljari (I am pretty sure that's the word, and that's how you spell it) it fizzled out, for me at least.
Not only did they shift the focus too much on the CHEMISTRY between the lead pair, but they completely ruined the other characters. I miss that feisty Anjie, the sweet, nature loving and little sarcastic Atul, the cockiness of Riddhima. I don't even want to hope now, this apparent SO-CALLED youth show, the only thing I see is them holding some random file near a patient's bed, talking amongst themselves, when they should be checking out their patients. They haven't even shown the interaction of Rahul and Muskaan with their patients; don't even get me started on that issue. I don't even want to write about how I felt after watching today's episode that would make this comment longer than it already is. Let's just say, I was not very pleased. Not everything is bad though, I do like the friendship between Rahul, Atul and Armaan, and they are trying to focus on the other characters too.
I just hope we are not put through some more of falling, eye-locking, hair swishing/flicking, duppatta getting caught scenes. Sorry for boring you all with my frustration, once I started I just couldn't help myself.
For the DMG I loved…
Hope is like the wax of a candle, that even after burning again and again...it can still be moulded back.
Thanks again
