Today industry is more focussed on the 2nd weekend collection. If the trend is good, film is considered a hit for the audience. They liked it. The budget issues/ the delays/ clashes, affect the producer.
Gadar 2 ,Stree2,Chhaava,Animal..big blockbusters, came and went. Some flops too. They come and go. Then the next film comes along. So it goes on. Those in the BO reporting business will try to make each a do or die situation..To keep the excitement going. One would think that it is the last chance to get into IIT..or AIIMS.
It is more similar to what Federer says, that he lost more sets than he won. Yet here he is! I think Actors career is like that.
Nope....that's not how it works. A film needs financers and the performance of your last few films decides if those financers are willing to invest in you or not and if so, how much?
Ranveer has already been through it. His Baiju Bawra could not find financers and was shelved for that reason. It's not like he'll stop getting work or anything, there's work in Bollywood for everyone, but he'll be relegated to mid budget films like Varun/Sid.
Certainly the most important film of his career. The fate of Don 3 might also depend on it especially seeing how poorly Excel is doing.
