This is gonna be such a shameful defeat. Only a miracle can help draw the game but truth be told, our batsmen don’t give any confidence whatsoever.

2 whitewashes in a year. Yes, we won against BAN and WI but even with WI, they made us work for our win in the second match.

While the captain between the NZ and now SA teams have changed, the only constant is the coach and his approach/strategy.

GG has to go! Not just from Test, but from all formats.

Also when RoKo were underperforming, there was a big criticism about them that they don’t play domestic.

What about now? Where are we even giving domestic players any chance whatsoever?

Karun, Sarfaraz etc keep scoring tons of runs in domestic but they are not given a longer rope.

Also, I’m sorry, but KL- God knows how many more years that dude needs. Rarely, if ever, has he performed in pressure situations. Doesn’t give any confidence whatsoever. Senior most player in the team and what are his contributions? Zilch! But he keeps getting chances over and over again. If Karun cannot be brought back into the game due to his age, KL and him are the same age, so why is KL there? Might as well give chance to newbies.

So damn pissed.

I get the feeling that the effects of this test match will be felt in the ODIs too.
Hopefully RoKo’s presence will help soothe the nerves of the team.

Day 4, 8.35am local: Hello and welcome to our coverage of the Guwahati Test with South Africa in firm control as we head into the fourth day's play. If there was ever a day to forget for the hosts, it was yesterday as their batting lineup unravelled on a decent pitch to bat on. In response to South Africa's 489, they were bundled out for just 201 through a combination of poor shots, bad decisions and one of the great spells by a visiting pacer in India. Very rarely has the short ball been used to such devastating effect in India and Marco Jansen was just sensational to break the game open the way he did.

Marco Jansen: (About the game plan) There’s obviously nice pace and bounce in the wicket. Not a lot of nip or swing, a little bit here at the end. Once we saw there was a bit of bounce and better pace in the wicket, we tried to utilize that. (Contributing in all departments) I just want to be like you, Shaun. Obviously a good day for the chaps and for myself in particular. But yeah, I feel the spinners did a really good job when the ball wasn’t moving as much and there was a dead period at some stage. I really feel the spinners did a brilliant job and I’m just lucky to be the one who cashed in. Who said we didn’t fight hard? Like I said, there was a bit of pace and bounce in the wicket, which was nice. We did think we were probably going to field, or we were preparing to field, for at least two days. The boys did a really good job today. (After getting out in the 90s) I took most of the steam off last night. Today was just all about trying to do a job for the team, which I’m glad I did. (About the pitch) I still think it’s a good wicket. The ball is starting to turn now and then the ball is holding up a little bit. So I think the spinners are definitely going to come into play more in the second innings.

Just one over from Siraj and he has been replaced by Washington. Round the wicket with a slip and short leg

Bumrah to Rickelton, FOUR, Rickelton is riding his luck. Beaten on the outside edge a few times, now gets a thick inside edge and it goes past leg stump.
