I couldn't get used to to the FL at first but later on she grows on. Xu Kai looks a bit different than his usual looks in most of the modern shows. The netizens and their impact was a bit too much but may be how it is there. I FFed most of the game parts except the end of course but the strategies they make, how they practice, how they grew till how they made it to the champion kept me hooked. Had a nice time for once for sure 😃

Currently watching light beyond the reed and unexpectedly it's too good very close to reality drama

Liking loves ambition so far..let's see how it goes ..I read in some reviews that the story falls apart towards the last few epis...still worth it imo.

It's not one of those fairy tale romances , it touches the reality for a change..the fl isn't the embodiment of perfection & self respect..she had a hard life & she aspires for a better one..someone who loves her , protects her , she wanted security along with love ....and she does whatever it takes to make it happen with the ml..lies , manipulations , twisting the truth just so that this relationship goes through ..

I'll be disappointed if her core character is not intact in the later part of the show..

Added loves ambition to my list of favs ..

It's definitely a watchable show , although i haven't finished it ..last 4-5 episodes are still locked & I dont wanna take a subscription this month ..

Still frm whatever I've seen (and I strictly prohibit you guys from reading further if you plan to watch it bec I tend to give spoilers & it might ruin your watch experience ), so from what I've seen i quite loved it , specially the first 20 episodes ..

It was a roller coster , there were a few things I could guess correctly..some really took me by surprise ..

Like we discussed earlier, the fl must have substance ..what's for the male lead in these shows ? To treat the fl nice ..they become heros just by doing that isn't it ? Whereas the female leads are the real fulcrum of the story ..

And here Zhao lusi slays it ..totally ..I liked her far far far better than the ml , I anyways didnt like the actor much bec he couldn't bring that depth & layers in his character which she could , through her nuanced acting...he just couldn't be the menacing calculative businessman/ husband nor could he play the lovesick husband role as well ..for a few scenes , the other guy (the 3rd wheel) he was so much better ; but then I read abt the controversy hes in & couldn't like him either ..

In the initial episodes xu yan *lusi* looks pale , like I felt shes actually very weak & feeling sick ..as the eoisodes go by , shes much better..her voice sound like a quack i dunno why ..

Her styling in this one is brilliant , she does look awfully thin .in one or two scenes her make up was ott but thats about it ..shes a visual treat , I didn't have to look elsewhere..

What i liked best about her character is her capability to draw a line ..everytime shes pushed to the corner , pushed into desperate situations but she tells clearly this is what's non negotiable ..it makes her character stand out ..

Instances such as the one where shes being blackmailed , in the end it was like do whatever u have to , I wont give in beyond a point ..when shes pushed into continuing this marriage , she still opts for divorce , considering what she was up against & who , its a very bold move ..the job where she kills her self respect , falls sick & still gives her 100% just to get nothing in return , in the end she quits ..

Another thing , her sister and her fiance , they're there for a very short while, I had to wait for the entire episode to watch them , but they were lovely.. I mean I adore her sister a lot ..loved that attitude of hers ..

Glad the parents angle was sidelined later ..children bear the consequences of parents mistakes & their neglect but at the end of the day, as adults they do & they must be accountable for their decisions good or bad ..its ok to feel that way & cut them off ..im glad xu yan never used this as an excuse for her actions , not even once ..

Im glad she didnt regret ger actions , although i dont support it fully ..theres abs nothing wrong in wanting security , financial stability & a good loving husband & family ..money does solve a lot of problems..ofc lying & manipulating isn't the way to it but how the story takes the turn is a real bummer..the players get played ..honestly it would be really stupid any other way bec the way they showed hao ming so smart , somebody as close to him fooling him would be ridiculous.

In the end xu yan earns every bit of love , support , success & appreciation from everyone thus making it a fulfilling journey ...she earned her sister's love , hao mings trust , she earned his family's love , and most imp what she does for herself is most important ..

Everything falls into place ofc , it had to when the drama has to end ..so it did start to look like every other show (im glad its that way & im used to the happy endings ) , where the best way to win the girls forgiveness is to support her & protect her ..its ok that way..makes me happy ..

I was glad xu yan didnt cut off hao ming completely ..she received what she wanted frm him always ..trust, support & the faith they showed in her ..again the same thing , no matter what level of success someone achieves it can never be theirs alone..they would always need love support loyalty & trust ..not possible to survive in isolation ..so whenever she needed him, he was there & vice versa ..and both grow together in love..

I like what qio lin said to yan that when they were young it was all about loving someone with all their heart but as they grow old , they realize love isn't just that , it comes with a lot of complications like pride ego compromises & insecurities...dialogues such as these make it worth watching , all the more for me.

I'll.not touch the story aspect here bec ill he revealing too much , will do that later..

Just read that its the same director of as beautiful as you..seriously there were striking similarities ..but as beautiful was perfect for me ..I mean ..loves ambition cant beat it ..the one thing I pointed out abt the ml , this is what I was referring to..xu kai perfectly balanced bw the 2 personalities of his character while William chang just fell short ..

Before I forget & move on to the next show , here's my last comments on loves ambition COz i didnt touch the story & characters earlier on ..

Yes the story kind of de rails towards the end but still worth a watch in many ways.

The songs with English lyrics were awesome (cant forget the same ph giving us as beautiful as you ost as well ) . So the legacy continues..

Something about hao Chen..the poor kid suffered a lot ..but if theres one thing I can take away from his track , its best to take the kids to nature whenever they're depressed ..it works magnificently well ..

Xu yan telling him the clear truth , not like "hes a child so he cant process it " , he couldn't take more of their lies..also I abs love their bond , she sees a lot of her in hao chen ..first the neglect from the parents side then the lies ..goes to show that money or no money , parental neglect can cause trauma for the child ..

A word for a very promising couple , qiao lian & yu yi ming , they just rushed through their part & focused more on the plotting going on..everything towards the end was incoherent . I liked them so much & they were wasted..

Now for the best part.. xu yan ..She holds the story together ..from the very beginning we can see how shes trying to please hao ming & then his family , his servants , even his dog ..picking out each & every potential obstacle & dealing with it smartly ..inside she knew her lies will hurt everyone a lot , seriously , the fact that she loved him genuinely really doesnt make up for it ...for a change there was a fl who was truly gray , unapologetic & ruthless ..I loved her , sympathize with her , and hate her all at the same time..later on it was just a happy feeling that her true efforts didnt get waste ..her love towards his family & whoever she met with (like that old lady ) was heartfelt & these very people came back to support her & helped her reach greater heights..

Same for hao ming..his character did a u turn in between & from there it was a typical romance which is there in every second show ..in the middle they put a lid on what really stood out in this show ..if they could explore hao ming in greater depth , it would be great ..if he always loved her & never wanted to separate why was he putting up this wretched act ? for how long did he act like a perfect husband & why ?all of it could never be a lie ..

I didnt him as much i loved this guy in as beautiful as you ..xu kai is so flawless in that playful act of his , nobody can beat him at it ..

Anyways..a must watch show , at least everyone can watch it once for Zhao lusi ..shes splendid in this one .
