Amaal Mallik is the guy who basically turned Bollywoodβs playlist into a therapy session with beats. Heβs one of the youngest composers to rise up the ranks, starting out when most of us were still figuring out what to do with our lives.
Heβs behind chartbusters like Sooraj Dooba Hai (2015βs official βforget your ex, dance anywayβ anthem), Kar Gayi Chull, Buddhu Sa Mann, Main Hoon Hero Tera, and of course, the βhold your tears, here it comesβ masterpieces β Kaun Tujhe, Chale Aana, and Bol Do Na Zara.
And the man doesnβt just stick to films β heβs done non-film singles that have millions of YouTube views and a solid fanbase that calls themselves βAmaaliansβ (yes, theyβre that loyal).
The very first major recognition for him came when he won the βUpcoming Music Composer of the Yearβ category at the Mirchi Music Awards for βSooraj Dooba Hainβ from Roy. He also won his first "Best Music Director" award at IIFA 2016 for the same song and he did it at the tender age of 25.
He has composed for Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt, and pretty much every big name whoβs ever looked out a rain-soaked window in a Bollywood movie. β
