Aamir belongs to those actors whom I call intellectual actor...it's not about feeling the character but thinking about how one could express as if one would feel what the character is designed to feel... one still keeps a certain distance to the character, generally not giving one bit of the own personality. I think that is the reason why Aamir got called "perfectionist" (which - to me - isn't really a compliment for an actor). There are people who call his performances authentic in comparison to those whose acting allegedly focusses more on star power, but there are quite a number of Aamir movies where I don't see/sense that authenticity. Actually, I may find his acting okay but I can't relate to the character and what he expresses, I don't f e e l the character.
Anyways, Abhinav isn't the only one who talks about Aamir this way.
