At Hoshiarpur....

The entire village is in festive mood...

Everyone is busy cleaning their houses to welcome the guests and celebrate their annual festival which brings everyone together, even the ones who are staying out for work come back during this time....

The Khurana and the Handa family are also excited about this family get together...

The whole area is decorated with flowers and diyas , desi style and not the serial lights of the cities, copied from the west...

Ranno has come home with Geet, Darji's favorite grandchild.... somehow Geet gets attached to the elders instantly.... be it Darji , Dadi or Mr.Khurana senior.... well she is everyone's darling, why not? She is very beautiful and adorable like a doll and most importantly, she is very soft spoken and listens to anything and everything they say without even thinking about it for a second...

Geet likes to stick to her Darji and she goes to all the households with him...

She is Hoshiarpur's ladli you can say...

Darji is respected the most by the villagers as he is not just another headman but he is like one among them, he takes anyone's problem as his own and helps them find a solution as soon as possible....

At the Handa home....

Ranno: Darji appka chai tandi ho rahi hai, aap abhi tak piye nahi

Darji: Ranno, Maine toh socha tha ki tum sabse samajdhar ho, tumme Kaun chai lekhe aane ko kaha?

Ranno: par Darji

Darji: tumme toh patha haina ki mein Geet ke bina chai nahi pee saktha

Ranno: woh toh soo rahi hai Darji, uski interzar karte toh aap ko dher ho jaye jayega, sab wait Kar rahe honge

Darji: let them wait, its not that they are kept waiting all the time, this is the time I wait for all the while, the time I get to spend with my Geet, Geet Geet

Ranno: Darji, let her sleep

Geet: Darji, I am here

Ranno: Geet, you were sleeping just now

Darji always shares his chai with Geet....

People are happy to see that big smile on his usually strict face...

Darji must be very very happy, why not he is walking his beloved granddaughter Geet in his hometown with so much pride...

Geet is the pupil of his eyes, she is the one who gives him good company after so many years of solitude from when he lost his wife....

"Namaste Darji, what's the matter with all the smiles, your son must have come home"

Mohinder is still in Delhi, caught up with his work, he wiil only be coming with his friend Madan...

Darji: why talk about the one who is not here? Where do you keep your eyes? Can't you see my princess? It's all because of her, she is here for the celebration, is everything ready yet? What about the pandal works at the grounds, is the stage ready? What about the fencing? It should be very strong, you know how people push and pull during the races? Everything should be perfect, there shouldn't be any problem

People are surprised by Darji's sudden enthusiasm.... till the day before he was not at all bothered about anything, now he is after everyone....

For the past two weeks Darji had been getting everything ready to welcome his granddaughter....

Geet likes to swing by the cannal on those rubber tubes the village kids used to play....

But Darji won't let Geet play with the others for Geet will be waiting for her turns all day, Arjun will be the new boss for the local kids and so Geet would be waiting there watching her brother only....

Darji has got a new tube specially hung at another exclusive place where Geet could play with her friends... Lucky and Nandhini will be here along with Dev off course.... that would be Geet's gang...

And also Geet is yet to learn swimming...

Darji can't push Geet into the waters just like he did with Arjun... Geet is so naive and delicate...

Darji has hunted for all the dried bottle gourds in the nearby fields for Geet's use as a float in the well....

Darji has even tested them on the neighbor's kids to select the best one for Geet...

He has ordered the sugarcane wala to send the freshest juice for Geet...

The Mangoes are plucked and put in hay for ripening....

This man's love for his granddaughter has no limits....

Next day.....

The Khurana are on their way to Hoshiarpur...

They are coming for lunch at the Handa home...

Ranno is working non stop from the morning....

Savithriji has always taken care of Ranno and the kids when they are at the Khurana Mansion at the times when Mohinder is our of town....

Now its Ranno's turn to serve the Khurana pariwaar...

Ranno has made garmagaram jalebis for papaji...., makki di roti and sarson ka saag for dadima, Darji's favorite gobi ke parathe is also in the menu...

Ranno doesn't know the tastes of Sheetal and the kids though...

She has made shahi paneer and Mango Lassi for the kids....

Mango Lassi is Geet's demand....

Arjun is not much of a foodie, he likes to play out with his pals, here he is the boss know....

Geet is playing outside when the car comes...

Geet recognizes it... its dadi and dadaji..

Geet is excited to see them.... she runs towards the car as the driver stops the car...

The first person to step out is Maan...

He jumps off the seat as soon as Sheetal opens the door...

Sheetal: Maan, careful

Geet: dadi dadi, dadaji

Geet comes charging as she looks at Maan instead of her dadi she tries to stop all of a sudden and ends up crashing down...

Sheetal rushes and picks up Geet as Maan keeps staring her...

Sheetal: Maan, what are you doing? Ckme help Geet

Geet is not able to look at Maan as she is ashamed that she fell down in front of a stranger( Maan)..

Geet couldn't even cry.... how would she cry for she will be named as a cry baby ...

Sheetal: Geet, are you okay?

Geet: dadi kahan hai?

Sheetal: dadi and papaji are talking to their old friends, they will come in a short while, Annie, look who is here, its Geet

Annie is happy to see Geet... she comes and catches Geet's hands....

Geet too likes Annie....

Ranno comes hearing the engine sound.....

Ranno: Sheetal didi, how was the journey? Did you have any trouble with the kids?

Sheetal: you know who the trouble makers are didi( these two call each other didi to prove that they are younger) , these boys are uncontrollable, Maan kept fighting with Annie, I had a tough time with him, he fell down in the fields where papaji stopped to see Darji

Maan: she also fell down

Sheetal: Maan, she came to welcome us, yoj were chasing a squirrel, there is a lot of difference you know

Maan: you are biased just because she is a girl

Maan is still staring Geet only....

Sheetal always compares the twins addressing their gender, Annie is such a cutie pie that Maan's reputation is always tarnished unnecessarily....

Ranno: ohh no, Maan must be hurt?

Sheetal: yes, he bruised his knees, when his dadaji is around no one can tell anything about Maan, he pampers him a lot

Ranno: papaji loves kids, he pampers Geet too a lot

Sheetal: but Geet is an angel, she is everyone's favorite, haina Geet?

Geet nods her head not knowing how to react to that compliment...

Maan is still staring her...

Sheetal is damaging Maan's image in of that stupid girl....

Ranno: come on in Sheetal, I will get the first aid box for Maan

Maan: she only needs it, I am good

Sheetal: Maan, you shouldn't talk like that

Ranno: its ok didi, Maan is far better than Arjun

Thus the two of them meet after a long time...

Part 3

great that the Khuranas and Handas will meet

of cos Geet is everyone's darling

adore the bond between Geet and Darji

as expected Geet complains about Arjun

well Darji supports Geet

so Arjun showed Darji the mirror

Darji is indeed happy that Geet is with him

he loves Geet immensely

finally the Khuranas arrive

now Maan and Geet meet

Maan was clearly upset that his mom tarnished his image

Part - 4

Geet takes Annie to meet her cousins Lucky and Nandhini.....

Geet : ye Annie hai, aur ye Nandhini aur Lucky

Nandhini: didi, Annie didi is also from Delhi

Annie: We live in Mumbai

Nandhini: Mumbai kahan hai?

Lucky: Mumbai is far far away, Delhi se bhi dur

Annie: yes, but its very beautiful, we go to the beaches and play

Nandhini: I want to go to Mumbai

Geet: first you come to Delhi

Lucky: I will come with you Geet didi, ok bye

Geet: where are you going?

Lucky shows his cricket bat and ball....

Lucky: to play cricket with friends

Geet: we will also come

Lucky: they won't play with small kids

Lucky is Arjun's age....

Nandhini: we will play here itself

Annie: ok, I will bat first

Annie is excited, there is no place to play outside like this in Mumbai....

Lucky: my bat I will bat first

Geet: but Annie has come to our place, she will bat first

Nandhini: yes didi, ladies first, you go and bowl

They all start playing...

Geet is batting....

"Catch", "you are out"

Maan caught the ball.....

Arjun and Maan are here... A couple of Arjun's friends are also there....

Arjun: Geet, give me the bat, you guys go and play hide and seek, this is not for small children, its dangerous, you will get hurt

Geet: no, we are playing, let us finish, then you play

Maan: you are already out

Annie: you are not in the game bhai, so it doesn't count

Maan: Annie, go play antakshari with your friend

Annie: I want to play cricket, Annie takes the bat from Geet and gets ready to bat

Maan: Annie, give me the bat

Maan tries to snatch it from her...

Lucky: this is my bat

Arjun: ok you can play with us

Lucky is happy with that....

Maan: I will bat first

Arjun: I will bowl then, you people will be fielding, Lucky be the keeper

Lucky goes and takes his position....

Annie is crying...

Annie: i will go tell maa

Geet too is upset....

The big brothers ignore their sisters as usual....

But Maan is feeling a little bad for the girls, specially the new girl...

She doesn't revolt like Annie, she remains very quiet, but the sadness behind

her silence is clearly visible in her innocent truth speaking eyes....

Dev who has just arrived comes in search of his bestie....

Dev gets upsets seeing Geet's tear filled eyes.....

Dev: What happened Geet? What are you doing here?

Geet can't say a word against her brother, that too in front of Dev, that only makes him more angry......

Geet looks at Dev and is trying not to look towards Arjun standing there with the ball in his hands while the bat is with Maan.......

Arjun: Dev

Arjun shouts at Dev who is standing in their play area.....

Unintentionally Geet's eyes turn towards Arjun.......

Arjun: move over Dev, we are playing here

Dev understands the problem immediately.....

Dev: ohh its Arjun again, you just ignore him, come let's play with my new bat

Geet's face lights up and she grins.....

Maan is surprised to see Geet smiling...... She does have a beautiful smile.......

Who is this guy responsible for it ?

Maan turns and looks at Dev....

Dev: Geet, chalo

Dev catches Geet's hand and takes her along.....

Geet: ok

Geet looks at Annie.....: come Annie

Annie also joins them....

Lucky: I want to go and play with them

Arjun: no you are not going anywhere, or you forget about your bat and ball.

Come on Maan, let's play.....

Lucky had to stay back......

Next day..... it's festival time....

The kids are excited as they get to waer new clothes and have fun whole day.....

After a delicious breakfast that Ranno made Geet is happy to go with Darji to the grounds where the bullock cart races take place in the evening...

Darji heads the event and is very particular about the safety of the villagers specially kids...

He double checks all the fencing himself...

Geet likes the races too but is scared of the fierce bulls....

She will always stay with Ranno during the races...

The Handa's go to the Khurana farm house for lunch......

From there they all will be going for the event....

Maan is happy to have his friend Arjun, Maan likes to befriend elder boys and feel like a big boy for he doesn't get to be a big brother for Annie as they are twins...

Maan thinks that he is the big boss in his house and treats Annie like a younger sibling only...

Annie's maturity level is also like that of Geet, they are on the lesser informed innocent kind...

Annie: where is Geet aunty?

Ranno: she is with your dadaji and Darji, she will come with them

Annie is disappointed, Maan too expected to see Geet....

They are having lunch when Dadaji comes with his friend and Geet....

Sheetal: Darji, you people are late, come and have lunch, maaji has made her famous vegetable pulao

Dadi: Haan, Sheetal get the jalebis too, its Darji's favorite

Darji: its our favorite

Darji looks at his friend....

Dadi: its loaded with sugar and your friend had a lot of ladoos that Ranno made

Dadi gives it to Darji only... she takes it away from dadaji...

Darji: one jalebi will do no harm behenji

Darji takes and gives one to his friend first...

Dadi: you and your bahu Ranno spoil him a lot

Dadaji: why not? This is my brother and she is my daughter, haina Ranno?

Ranno: ji papaji

Dadi: Sheetal is my daughter then

Sheetal: ji maaji

Darji: we already ate at the grounds with the others, Geet didn't eat there

They were having spicy fresh tandoori kababs with Kulche... it was too spicy for Geet...

Sheetal: Geet, come and sit here

Sheetal asks Geet to sit in the seat in-between her and Maan...

But Geet goes and sits with Annie....

She doesn't like the bully gang...

Dadi: Geet, here is your favorite radgulle....

Dadi gives her two while the only got one...

Ranno: dadi, gove her one

Dadi: Ranno, this is not the Handa house, I will feed my pari whatever she wants

Sheetal: maaji, here's the pulao

Dadi: Haan, Geet ko samosa bhi do

Maan doesn't like that.... this girl has too much attitude....

Everyone pampers her because she is Darji's angel....

Later in the evening...

Arjun, Maan and Annie are standing in the front next to the fences so that they can watch the race closer...

But Geet is hiding at the back of her mother...

Annie: Geet, come here

Ranno: Geet, go to Annie, I am here only

Geet goes there but stands at a safe distance...

Maan is there watching the race and the bulls interestingly as this is the first time for him...

Arjun: Maan, this is ours, Kallia, he is the best, come on Kallia

The races are in full swing, all are cheering and the crowd gets frenzied and rush forward....

Maan gets pushed forward and he hits Geet....

Geet is about to fall on the fence and is terrified...

Maan tries to stop her by holding her... Geet is shocked....

But she is safe in Maan's hold....

Luckily for Geet Dev is right there beside her...

Dev: Geeet

Dev goes infront of her and stops her from crashing on the fencing....

Geet catches Dev's hand and moves away from Maan's hold...

Annie: Maan, why did you push Geet?

Annie stares Maan...

Maan: Annie, they pushed us, I didn't push anyone

Maan looks at Geet expecting her to tell the truth, she knows who helped her, haina?

Geet is still in fear.... she doesn't hear anything... she is only searching for Ranno.... there she is ....

Ranno sees her daughter crying and rushes to her....

Ranno: Geet what happened?

Geet is only crying....

Dev: Geet got scared aunty, we all got pushed , I stopped her from falling

Ranno: Geet, don't worry, now you are with me safe, you should thank Dev, Haina?

Maan is still staring Geet...

Geet: thanks Dev

Geet knows that Maan is staring her and she looks up at him.... he is very angry... but Geet doesn't know why....

But Geet is thankful to Maan too.... he did try to help her, haina ?
