True. As a kid, I had heard Ravan’s only flaw was his arrogance which caused his destruction or else he was a revered man well versed with vedas. But when I grew up, I read he committed some heinous crimes. The thing is like you said he was half Rakshas so for them committing rakshas or pishacha vivaah (abducting women, forcefully marrying them or r*ping them) isn’t wrong. By that comment I simply meant he respected Mandodari (yes, I know he married many women, but by nature, he was half-Rakshash and didn't operate according to human ethics).
He loved his kith and kin. Can't say the same for Armaan sa.
Comparing a human committing crimes to that of a rakshas and saying human is better makes no sense. Coz then we will have to consider all the good deeds Ravan has done. From penancing for 10000 years to please Brahma to cutting off his head please Shiva and creating Shiv Tandav Stotra. So you right, comparing Armaan with Ravan is an insult to Ravan coz despite marrying a thousand women, Ravan loved and respected his chief consort Mandodari the most, which Armaan sa can never do.
I honestly hate itv for using mythological symbolism in their show. Aur agar dikhana hai toh correctly dikhao. Navri Sita chodo, Mandodari bane layak nahi hai. Coz she was also a chaste woman. Navri is perfectly fit to be Shurpanaka. Just like Shurpanaka started lusting over a married man despite being recently widowed. Navri was busy luting over married Armaan after Anshu’s death.
