May I suggest we postpone the Book Bingo Challenge to next month? I had made some suggestions to Riya on how to make it better so it isn't a race but actually an opportunity to read something different and even if Riya isn't back I'll be happy to run the challenge for 1 month with those updates.

Not a lot has been lost yet and all of us have understood how things could have been better. I'm tagging only the captains so that you can take it back to your teams and see what they think.

Everything is already ready so waiting another month for a better version of book bingo should be okay in my view.

I'll be happy to step out of the challenge and just run it to ensure it remains fair and with new teams it could be a different experience.

No. Finished tasks will not be considered. I said let's start from scratch next month with some edits to the rules. If you'd like to consider finished tasks then we might as well continue this month no matter how much of a mess it is. And in that case I can't lead it.

If you say, let us start from scratch next month, fine, let us do so. But, what about these finished tasks, where so much hard work involved? Is there any way to reward this effort of our participants?? Please advise.

I agree, but then the current bingo card would go to waste. I’d like to propose an alternative: instead of scrapping the whole thing, what if we switch to individual Bingo for this month?

We’re only 4 days into October, and there’s still plenty of time for people to complete the tasks on the bingo card individually if they’d like to. Many of us really enjoyed the tasks, so this could still be a fun individual activity rather than just a team based one. We could remove the time factor to avoid adding any pressure and simply reward participants based on their ability to finish all 25 tasks within the month.

Many participants have already read at least 2 books each, and those who are currently offline are still working through the tasks. It seems like a waste to let all that effort go unused, when we can keep things moving forward individually.

We can return to team bingo format later on with updated rules, as you suggested.

This works. It will reward people and I think I did set up the bingo badge to be given multiple times so people can earn it once for doing individual bingo and once for team bingo.

We can just stipulate next month that you need to read a different book than one you read this month.

We could also try and change up the bingo board a bit next month to make things different but I can work with Shibz on the side on that since she made the card. 🤣

If all captains are in agreement, say aye. 🤣 I'm a pirate after all this month. Har, har, har.

Lol I wasn't trying to be stern. I just find that you need to be direct and draw lines before things get out of hand. 😅

Before you made the edit to the post, I was going to suggest we could just have a new, updated card next month, there are so many different prompts left to use, after all. (Yes, I’m greedy 🤣)
