BCCI is so powerful but they could not stop a pakistani from becoming ACC chief, strange
I think it's based on some rotation policy. May be they should change the policy and do it based on votes 😊
In Sukma, Chhattisgarh, the Central Industrial Security Forces of the 74th Battalion celebrated India's victory. Similarly, in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army celebrated India's victory alongside local residents by bursting firecrackers. Cricket fans across the country, including in Nagpur, Maharashtra, and Mohali, Punjab, gathered on the streets to celebrate.

For how long will we avoid them..at any point we will have to meet them and it is about best team of Asia,so we had to participate ..victory was fair and square..yes initially we felt bad but our boys did what they can ..
I dint like the drama and politics bcci did..initially doing handshake then after backlash acting like no no,we should have done better there, shown stronger response from intial set go
India was willing to accept the trophy from Emirates Cricket Board Vice-President Khalid Al Zarooni, but Naqvi did not allow this. Ultimately, the Indian team took a group photo without the trophy or medals.
During the 2024 T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma walked slowly while holding the trophy, and in the same style, Suryakumar Yadav walked slowly without the trophy to celebrate. The BCCI has announced a prize money of Rs 21 crore for the Indian team that won the Asia Cup cricket series.
My doubt is why did salman agha throw away the cheque and smiled later like he won something? What are the protesting for

Exactly. Why at play with someone who doesn't have an iota of sportsmanship in them in first place ???
Na khelte na yeh sab tamasha dekhne ko milta.
Like I'm super happy India won, but this is also a direct consequence of BCCI's antics. Asia Cup nahi khelte toh kaunsa pahad toot padta India ki shaan mein.
Maybe Salma Aga thought, why should India have all the drama? If they reject the trophy, he’ll reject the cheque!! If India can walk off without a trophy, Salma Aga figured he could waltz off without a cheque... call it poetic justice??Originally posted by: Swathi_7

Absolutely agree. A tournament’s credibility depends on keeping cricket above personal egos. What Mohsin Naqvi did turned a proud sporting moment into unnecessary drama. The Asia Cup should be about celebrating the players, not about an administrator’s need for attention. If officials can’t respect the spirit of the game, then they shouldn’t be sitting in positions that represent it.If the Asia Cup has to continue with credibility, the first step should be removing Mohsin Naqvi from the chairmanship. What unfolded wasn’t just politics creeping into sport, it was the display of one man’s personal ego overshadowing the spirit of cricket.
By refusing to hand over the trophy simply because the winning side requested not to receive it from him, Naqvi reduced a moment of celebration into a petty controversy. If he truly had self-respect, he would have gracefully accepted the request, stepped aside, and let the focus remain on the players who earned that trophy on the field. Instead, his insistence made the event about himself, not about the champions.
A trophy ceremony is not about administrators or ministers, it’s about honoring the hard work, sweat, and pride of the players. By making it personal, Naqvi only exposed his own small-mindedness and, in the process, undermined the values of sportsmanship that bind cricket lovers across nations.
