I read somewhere that Radha was never mentioned in the old purans and was an interpolation.....your thoughts?
Sorry, but I can't read Hindi. If you could find an English version/translation I can check it.

Till date I haven't been able to understand who really Radha was. I mean... I know the legends associated but never really got to understand who she is/was... Still looking for answers not to question the entire being or concept but just to understand better...
As for the name not being mentioned... Possibly, just like Ramayana sticking to most necessary political and military facts, Krishna's life was probably written with importance to those aspects as well... His political life began after he came back to Mathura, hence those details are quite prominent... Also, I read that Krishna's childhood tales are also unverified legends... (especially the magical ones and his stories with the Gopis of Vrindhavan). The only ones we know for sure are the demons Kamsa sent and the snake Kalinga and the Govardhan Mountain incident... I guess...
thanks for your opinions
i think
radha existed there
just not in the central stories of mahabharat and few other texts

Yes plus some versions also claim that Radha is Mahalakshmi which doesn't make any sense cause his eight wives were Ashtalakshmi who were personifications of Mahalakshmi so who was Radha?.
