Aishwarya Rai has been approached to essay the role of former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

Sources reveal that Ash is one of the prime contenders for the role.

It is reliably learnt that UTV is producing the project.

Neelesh Misra, lyricist for films like Jism, Johnny Gaddaar, Jannat will pen the script.

He has also written the screenplay for Sanjay Gupta's Alibaug.

Misra confirms, "I have been offered the project, but haven't accepted it yet.

The producers are contacting the Bhutto family before they go ahead with it."

A source reveals, "There is a lot of homework to be done on the film.

At the moment, talks are in progress with the Pakistani government and other officials to get permission to go ahead with the film.

Ash has been approached to play the role because she has the appeal to essay it."

^ No, not about Aish doing the role, I don't think its right to play with such a sensitive issue, espcially for the people of Pakistan.

yes thats something different..actually the supporters might take action againtst this which can get ASH into truoble..I think u all knw abt the political conditions of Pak..Bhutoo govt is in..so they can create problems for her...though the new PM of Pakistan really likes ASH..😆

I think they should get a actress from Pakistan and maybe they should make the movie there itself. Many emotions will be hurt and political agebda woudl creep up.

But I think ASh is smart enough. She is not going to accept the role.

Wow I'm surprised that the producer and the director didn't think of offering the role to Meera- the Pakistani no. 1 actress, since she claims that she doesn't have an average look like Preity, Rani or other top bollywood actresses but is much better looking. 😆
