Part 4
Daya hummed as he added Paneer into the simmering pan. The pan already had all the ingrediants needed for Matar Paneer. He smelled the aromatic fragnance of spices and Paneer sizzling in before letting it cook on slow burner.
He wiped the small line of sweat that appeared on his forehead due to kitchen heat before grabbing his cup of coffee and moving out to the living room to sit under fan.
Daya was happy and excited. Shreya was coming over today with Mihika. They are about to meet for the very first time after their day out on beach a weeks ago. Just last night, he had called her after Mihika went to sleep and invited them over.
Their night calls have became a permanent part of routine right from that night when Daya came home from her place for 1st time and recieved her call, asking him if he had reached safely. He was touched by her thoughtfulness but she was always like that. Wasn't she? Always thinking about others, their needs, their wishes.
He would inquire about her day, about Mihika and her struggles to settle in this Free life. Actually, he was the one who suggested her to take Mihika to see a therapist. Being in this field of crime and danger, he knows what trauma does to a person. They themselves have seen many abducted kids whose mindset completely changed after being taken away for a small time. And here, Mihika had lived her whole life with those criminals. She must have witnessed some horrible situations, she must have heard something which a child should never hear. She should talk to someone about her years of seperation. She needs to confide in, share her burden, if not with her mother than someone else.
His worry for Mihika diverted his mind back to the conversation, he had with Shreya last night.
Flashback
"Mihika appke bare main pooch rahi thi" Shreya had told him over the phone, the softness in her tone couldn't stay hidden.
"Accha...." He was happy to know that her little angel remembered him. He just came back home after meeting his informer. Tucking his phone between his shoulder plane and cheek, his fingers started to unbutton his shirt. "kia...kia pooch rahi thi?" He inquired further with a smile.
"Pooch rahi thi k Uncle us din k baad milnay kyun nahi aye.....(a small pause) App ko aksar yaad karti hai. " She repeated Mihika's statement before giving revealing that information. The edge of her pallu was rolling between her fingers.
Gripping the phone back in his hand, he replied while looking out of his room window into the dark night sky. There was no moon tonight. "Mera khud bohut mann tha...usse milne ka...Par Shreya, Main tum dono ko aik doosre k saath waqt deyna chahta hoon...... " His words contained wisdom and his care.
"Itni mushkil se Mihika milli hai....or tumhari chutiyan bhi bus aik mahinay ki tau hain..... Uske saath ye waqt guzaro....bina kissi teesre ki interference k...... Ye saath bitaya waqt un lamhoon ki kami tau nahi poori kar sakta jo tum dono kho chuke ho.... Likin future main...Tum dono k rishte ko mazboot karne main... bohut kam ayein gay" He explained his reasons for his abstainment. Either he was convincing himself for justifying his distance, or her, he wasn't sure.
Shreya finally has some time off after long struggling 8 years of her job in Special Forces without any break. She had totally indulged herself in work, not taking a day off just to keep herself busy. It was also the only was of survival for her. People in Special Forces knew her story, her background, knew her struggles and after getting Mihika back, they also understand her need to just take a break or she will burn herself out with the continous tasks, the job demands. So, granted her a month off, even under these severe circumstances, when their country was fighting a huge conspiracy. They also understood how unpredictable there life can be. It is too small for regrets. Shreya deserved this chance with her daughter.
And no one could understand it much better than Daya and Shreya. That Time matters. Moments created in time, matters.p
"App koi teesre nahi hain" She uttered softly and tried to assure him about the worth of his presence in her life, making a small smile bloom on his face.
"Hmmm..." He felt shy but quickly overcome it. "Likin phir bhi.... Mihika tumhara poora time deserve karti hai...Likin haan, main kal tum dono ko invite karna chah raha tha.....kal thori dair k liye....mere ghar pe......Saath main lunch karte hain or issi bahane, Mihika ka gila bhi dour ho jaye ga" Shreya smiled on the other side, feeling her heart swell with his care and excitement to meet him.
"Theek hai.....par atay atay 2 baj jayein gay.... Mahi ka therapy session hai", and giving her affirmation, they had wished each other Good Night before hanging up. They both went to sleep with warm smiles, looking forward to the next day.
FlashBack Ends
After 6 years, Daya was once again feeling the same pittar-patter of emotions in his heart: happy, excited, fearful and content, that he had felt before loosing it all. Losing her.
He had loved her. Truly loved her but their fate wasn't in their favour. His hesitation and her responsibilities got them apart. But now, he was determine to not let any distance enter between them.
For 6 years, he had wondered about her, her whereabouts. How is she? Is she safe? What she must be doing? Is she alive? The last question had especially croded his soul like termites. He just can't cut himself away from her life anymore.
He had inquired about her too along with Mihika. Her old house was locked and sold, her grandparents house was also once visited by him but there was no one. Their neighbours told him about Shreya's mother death after 6 months her marriage by heart failure and then one after another, her grandparents too left the world due to old age and depression. No one had any knowledge about her father. He couldn't find any lead on Shreya. ACP sir had strongly reprimended him for using professional resources for personal information when he was caught red handed, trespassing the online institutional barriers......but now, after meeting her, he had came to realise that maybe, her details were sealed by the government and that's why, he couldn't get access to her. She was working for Special forces. Going undercover, getting into the minds and gangs of criminals requires her to stay hidden behind closed files and blocked names. Somewhere, he also has this nagging feeling that ACP sir knew about her.
The clock on the wall ring twice indicating that its 2pm.
"Wo dono raste main hi hoon gay". Finishing last of his coffee, he stood up to go to kitchen. He checked the food and mentally went through all the items he had prepared. Salad, raita and Soda were already in the fridge. Fries were already put into air fryer. He had already ordered Roti and two other child-friendly dishes for Mihika. Chocolate chip Ice cream was chilling in the freezer, ready to be served.
"Perfect" Satisfied, he moved to his room to change for the arrival of his special guests.
-----------------------------
Shreya had arrived with Mihika and they had shared the lunch happily. Shreya couldn't help but notice her favourite, Mattar Paneer, cooked perfectly by him. She also knew he cooked nothing beside it as the delivery man had an issue with the location and delivered food 5 minutes after their arrival.
She somewhere know and believe thag he made it for her only. He still remembers. And his small gestures of care mean more to her than his heroic acts.
Shreya's other reason of calmness today was the light she saw in Mihika's eyes as she met Daya. As they arrived, She had called his name happily and raised her hands to be lifted up by him. And Daya, he was more than ready to oblige, holding her up, giving her one of the tighest, warmest of hugs. At lunch, Mihika was talking more than ever as Daya indulged her in small talks about her favourite color or her favourite food. For once, she was eating more than the quarter roti, she usually eats, with Mattar Paneer.
Right now, Mihika was taken into Daya's guest room where he had a surprise for her. She heard Mihika's squeal of joy and a smile rose on her face too while she cleaned the table. He was about to do it when she stopped him and taken over the task to make him spend some time with Mihika who seemed to be eager to see her 'Surprise' as he had mentioned between the lunch.
While washing the dishes, Shreya's thought drifted back to Mihika's behaviour right from time she got her back. Her every little movement, every little detail that can express her emotions which she is hesitant to show her, her own mother. As if fearful to express it and be scolded for it.
Just three days back, Shreya found Mihika sitting on the bed, wrapping her hands around her tummy and bending down, almost tucking her head between her legs. She silent sobs couldn't be heard by her body moment, made it obvious. Shreya was so afraid to see her like that. Mihika had totally skipped dinner that night. But hearing her mother voice, Mihika stood up quickly, pretending that nothing was wrong. That practice mask of wellbeing on the face of a 7 year old made Shreya shake in her shoes. The girl believed that her pain was just something to be taken lightly. That it didn't matter.
It had taken Shreya's constant care and patience for 15 minutes, her soft fingers lightly ruffling Mahi's silky hairs, patting her back, her words softly inquiring about her troubles, assuring her repeatedly that she is safe, she is home when Mihika relented and expressed her pain as if it's something to be ashamed off. She avoided looking up. Shreya's heart had broken that moment, her mind cursed Barbosa again and again for making this child so concious about such small matters.
"Agar hum main se koi bacha khana khanay k liye mana karta tha......tau wo sab ka khana rok leyte thay, Mumma" That night was the first night, Mihika shared something about her days in captivity. Shreya felt pain in her chest as she pulled her daughter in her arms. She had given her medicine and was laying beside her, softly letting her hand hold the little fingers, just a moment ago.
2 weeks and 5 days. It had taken Mihika this much time to feel comfortable enough to share her past with her.
She couldn't keep tabs of early achievements of her daughter's life. Her first smile, first tooth, first step, first birthday. But Now, she was going to note down these small victories and will cherish them always.
Surprisingly, the much time it had taken for a mother to attain that trust from her daughter, while with Daya, just in a day, she was much more open, much more smiling, much more alive. Like with him, she doesn't fear anyone.
A pang of regret, a feeling of failure tried to lift its face in her heart before Mihika's little arms moved quickly held her around her waist, clutching her kurta, her face tucked in her belly, her soft giggles rippled against her stomach.
Shreya came out of her thoughts and looked at Daya who was giving Mihika a mischevious grin standing in the kitchen door. Mihika peeked at Daya before seeing his wiggling fingers moved towards her. "Aapki Mumma bhi appko tickle monster se nahi bacha saktin..........Ready ho...." Daya moved closer and was about to touch Mihika when she squealed and ran out of kitchen giggling, crying "Mumma...Mumma....bachao" loudly as Daya ran behind her in much slower sprint than his usual.
Shreya smiled and rejected all her previous thought. Her Jealousy.
Mihika's happiness is above all this competitions, above all that matters.
Wiping down her hands, she came out to find few toys spreading all over the living room now. A huge teddy bear was occupying a small sofa, a remote control car was beeping and spreading light all around. Two dolls of different sizes were held by Daya and Mahi each, both were combing the hairs of the respective dolls in their hands.
Shreya couldn't help but giggle herself seeing that scene.
"Kaun keh sakta hai k app wohi CID officer hain jin ko kissi pe daya nahi ati" She lightly mocked, a broad smike plastered on her face, as Daya tries to tie a rubber band on the haphazardly made ponytail of the doll.
"Kaun kia kehta hai....mujhe parwah nahi.....Mihika khush hai....is say zyada kuch mai-nay nahi rakhta...Kyun Mehu?" He spoke in total adoration. Mihika gave him brightest of smiles. Shreya's heart swelled with pride.
"Likin App itna kuch kyun lay aye..... Abhi kuch din pehle hi...." But before she could complete her line, Daya shook his head at her while his gaze was fixed on Mihika. ( Abhi kuch din pehle hi humne new toys liye hain) the words died in her throat as the bright face of the girl bent down. Her fingers shivered and the doll in her hands fell down on the floor.
Shreya cursed herself for babbling out. She knew. She was told. She told Daya too. During one of her session with therapist, Mahi had revealed that they could never keep something that they loved. Any toy, any dress, any drawing, any friend that they had developed a fondness of, was next moment taken away by Barbosa's men. All the kids who were captured by them were so badly mentally and emotionally tortured that they had stopped expecting, stopped loving, stopped demanding anything. They were just surviving on day to day basis, trying to live few moments, few days, few minutes more.
Daya quickly got up from his position and took hold of the doll before placing it back in Mihika's hand.
"Aray Shreya, zyada kahan hain.....Ye sab sirf meri taraf se nahi, baqi sab ki taraf se hain.....Count karo gi tau abhi bhi 5-6 gift kam hi rahain gay......." He chuckled, trying go lighten up the scene... "Abhijeet nay tau bicycle order kar rakhi hai Mehu k liye......Wo bhi kuch dino main deliver ho jaye gi.....Waise bhi....Mihika CID family ki pehli bachi hai.....Abh itna pyaar or spoil karne ka haq tau humain bhi hai....Kyun Mehu?" Mihika lifted her eyes and seeing his assuring, hopeful and calm ones, she quickly hugged Daya.
Shreya's eyes filled up. This aggitation on the face of her daughter was caused by her one statement. (How can I be so foolish? How can I completely ignore Mahi's mental health) She repremended herself.
Mihika's arms could barely reach his back, so she clutched his shirt and placed her head on Daya's shoulder. He fingers softly rubbed her back, assuring her of her safety. "Betu, app safe ho....dekho koi nahi dantay ga appko yahan abh .....Sab appse bohut pyaar karte hain..... Darne ki koi baat nahi Mehu" He whispered in a voice that could be clearly heard by her. Mihika inhaled his scent that like home to her.
"Appko patah hai..... Jab humain chup rakhna hota tha na tau wo ganday uncle TV laga detay ta k hum sab cartoons main busy rahain or shor na karain. Likin phir aik din TV main app dikhay..... Wo ganday uncle appko kuch bura bol rahay thay...... Tab Tiya nay mujhe kaan main bataya k app bohut brave ho......Uske orphange main sab appki bohut charcha karte thay....... or usne kaha k agar appko hamare baray main patah lagay ga na, tau app humain zaroor wahan se nikal lo gay" Mihika softly repeated a memory from her past that completely took Daya and Shreya by surprise. Daya's arms patted her little back once before seperating her from himself and
"Tiya nay theek kaha tha Mehu. Agar mujhe patah hota k app kahan ho, tau main appko kab ka zaroor wahan se nikal leta........(cupping her tiny face) hum sab nay appko bohut dhonda hai, Betu" Daya expressed his feelings honestly.
"Likin patah hai, abh app jo hamare saath ho tau abh koi darr nahi hai....Appse koi kuch nahi cheenay ga or na hi koi kuch dour kare ga.....Agar kissi nay bhi appko kuch bhi kaha na tau hum usay choorain gay nahi..... Koi bhala kaise CID parivar ki itni pyari guriya ko kuch keh sakta hai.....haan.....Aray hamari baat choro, appki Mumma hamaray kuch kehne ka time hi nahi anay dain gi.....Khudi uska kachoomar bana dain gi...Unki Mahi ko koi kaise chot pohacha sakta hai bhala, bolo?" Daya tone shifted from serious to mischevious as he progressed and bohut Mihika and Shreya smiled. Mihika looked at her mother and seeing her open arms, quickly ran to her. Shreya felt a calm spread in her heart seeing her daughter rushing towards her.
Daya smiled at the mother-daughter duo and approached them. Kneeling beside Mihika, he gently talked to her.
"Mihu....humain patah hai betu k appka wahan guzara howa waqt asaan nahi tha....likin abh app apnay parivaar main hoo.....hum sab k liye app bohut khass ho...is liye, koi bhi dar ho, koi bhi baat buri lagay, koi bhi appko daraye yaan appko kuch bhi sahi na lagay....app humain bay-jhi-jak bata sakti ho........Appko youn nazran jhukanay yaan churanay ki zaroorat nahi hai....... App pyaar expect kar sakte ho.... ye gifts, ye hugs....sab appke liye hain or inhain koi bhi nahi cheenay ga appse......samjh aaye betu" Mihika though couldn't understand the meaning behind his words, but she listened to him carefully and nodded her head. She has started to believe that these people care for her and willn't treat her like the people who previously OWNED her. Her little mind will take time to fully comprehend his words but She knew that she will be fine here. She will be fine with them.
------------------------------
Though Shreya and Mihika were supposed to stay for sometime, but after playing with her new toys, and having the morning session with therapist, Mihika was feeling sleepy and continously yawning and Daya forced Shreya to take Mihika to his guestroom. For once, Shreya didnt argue.
Daya made two cups of tea in the meantime and settled them on the small table near sofa when Shreya too walked out of guest bedroom.
"Chai?" He offered. Shreya gave a heavy smile as she took a seat on the one seater.
"Thank you....Jiss tarhan se appne Mihika ko handle kia..... " But Daya cut her right away.
"Thank you ki zarorat nahi hai Shreya..... Maine sirf wo kia jo zaroori tha....." Daya wanted to let the matter go.
"Likin phir bhi..... Mujhe acche se pata tha k uski halat kaisi hai...... Or anjanay main, main hi uske dukh ki wajha ban gaye...... Uske saath main hamesha koshish karti hoon k sambhal k, soch k baat karoon....likin I always feel like I am walking on eggshells...... Meri aik baat ko wo kaise interpret kare gi.... Yeh khayal hi mujhe us say zyada baat hi nahi karne deta" Her remorse was not letting her feel calm.
"Don't be too hard on yourself Shreya. Or apno say har baat zyada soch samjh k nahi karni chahiye..... She is your daughter..... Dekho, tum jitna socho gi....utna hi ye sochain tumhain Mihika se dour karain gi........ Us say khul k baat karo... Agar usay kuch bura lagay, uski misunderstanding ko dour karo... Apnay app ko itna mat uljhao k suljhatay suljhatay rishtoon ki dori dheeli parnay lagay" Daya tried to guide her. Daya himself being an orphan, could totally understand what kind of fears Mihika has. His experience had made him the man he is today. A man who always fears that bad things are supposed to happen to him. So he doesnt even try to hold on to happiness that knocks at his door. It was his past that made him afraid of a future and was the same fear that kept him away from Shreya.
Shreya just like Mihika, listened to him carefully and nodded.
"Shayad app sahi keh rahay hain" She replied solemnly
"Shayad nahi yaqeenan.....Meri baat hamesha sahi hoti hai... Tum hi bus doubt karti hoon" Daya teased with a cute pout, trying to lift up her mood and change this serious environment.
Shreya got the clue and smiled while picking up the tea cup, shaking her head.
"Patah hai Dr. Tarika wapis aa gayein hain?" Daya shared the latest news.
"Wah, sach main....... Kaisi hai wo? Kahan thi abh tak? Abhi bhi uska or Abhijeet sir ka waisay hi chal raha hai k koi baat agay bhari" Shreya inquired excitedly. It was so long that she indulged herself in any gossip.
"Aray kahan..... Abhi bhi wohi 'Tarika Je' or 'Abhijeet' ka phase on hai...." Daya mimiced Abhijeet and Tarika as he took the names. "Likin haan, is baar Tarika ka taqman bohut high hai.... Boss ko usay mananay main bohut papar belne hoon gay", Daya continued amusingly.
"Ye dono bhi na.....Abhi tak wahin rukay hain....." Shreya sipped her tea with a smile and totally missed the deep gaze with which Daya looked at her.
"Sab wahin rukay hain Shreya, Tarika Abhijeet, Sachin, Purvi, Pankaj, ACP Sir...Or main.......or kahin na kahin tum bhi", Daya thought but didn't utter these words. He didn't want her to feel burdened by anything anymore.
Yes, Everyone has seemed to be stuck in the same place, they were 8 years ago. Her marriage might have been the trigger that disturbed the flow of their lives, but she was never responsible for their decisions. Daya's life stopped cause he couldn't let anyone take her position in his life. Abhijeet was stuck because he blamed himself for his and Shreya's seperation. He always blamed himself saying that he could have done something. He should have done something to let Shreya know even after her father refused to acknowledge her love. His concious didn't let him find happiness when his own brother was suffering due to him. Although, Daya had tried to push him, take him out of this guilt but Abhijeet just couldn't accept it. Tarika took the decision to leave because she just could not stay in this limbo of may be or may be not anymore. She wanted to give herself a chance of a life outside the CID Forensic Lab and somewhere, she was hoping that Abhijeet would man up and wouldn't make the same mistake like Daya. Purvi and Sachin had stopped believing in love after seeing the four people going through such a heartbreak, just for the sake of eachother.
"Daya Sir, kal appke pass waqt hai......Rishabh Sir nay kal appko office bulaya hai....." Shreya spoke up bringing him back to the present.
"Haan kyun nahi.......Tum time bata do.....Main kuch na kuch bahana bana k bureau se nikal aoon ga" Daya replied.
"App....." Shreya hesitated. "App sure hain....I mean is sab main parne k liye..... Main janti hoon appko jhoot bolna, baatain chupana pasand nahi likin agar ye case shuru howa tau app chah k bhi kissi se sach nahi keh sakain gay" Shreya warned him not because he was weak in any way.....But because she knew how sacred is his relation with ACP sir and Abhijeet.... He can lie to anyone but lying to these two people will surely somewhere eat him inside. And, she no more want to take any credit for his pain than she already feels.
Daya knew what is she thinking and so reassured her, "Shreya, tumhi nay tau mujhe kaha tha k baat desh ki hai......Tau desh ki baat ho tau koi jhoot jhoot nahi hota....main janta hoon k agar wo mere jhoot se gussa hoon gay, tau ka ko mujhe samjhain gay bhi...... Nahi?" He had already hidden things from Abhijeet about Shreya and her relation with Special Forces. If Acp Sir knew anything, he didnt asked him.
Shreya nodded and felt lighter by his assurance.
--------------------------
Next day, Daya met Shreya's boss in a secret hideout. From outside, it looked like an old shabby house but inside a whole other world was created by Special Forces. Computers, research, Latest tech.
Daya was asked to sign some legal documents which required him to maintain secrecy before he was given the whole picture and details of Mission Chakarvyuh. He was warned beforehand that He and Shreya will be on their own after this mission.Later, He was stunned to know that how under the guise of police officers or senior corrporates, there is a whole system which is silently destroying the whole structure of his nation. His motherland. He was angry and he was determined.
No one can lift a bad eye on his nation.
-------------------------------
Two weeks later, Mission Chakarvyuh started in full force. Daya has to make all the calls himself whike Shreya was assigned to help him in any matter of emergency and once again, they were walking side by side, after some long years, but their steps matched perfectly. They were so in sync with eachother. If one made a mistake (like Daya leaving clues for CID in his home), other already knew how to cover. If one left a loose end (like Miland), other knew how to tie it.
Shreya had sent Mihika to a Children Care Centre after discussing it with her doctor. Both agreed that staying with other children will do good to her. Before mission, she had already taken Mihika to the center a few times and she had surprisingly made a few friends too. This made Shreya happy and stressfree. Mihika happily went to the center taking it as a vacation. Shreya, being a mother, though continously assure her that she is there for her whenever needed but a calm Mihika replied. "Mumma, I know k app ho......or mujhe ye bhi patah hai k abh app kahin nahi jaoo gay...." Her words lifted a burden from Shreya's heart. She gave her a kiss on tge forehead and also gave her a secret mobile number to contact her in emergency.
---------------------------------
Daya had killed people, he had successfully removed the targets who were part of Sleeper cells and now he was in governor house, trying to save him from his own Rakh-shaks.
He had taken a bullet and Shreya felt her breath hitched. No, she couldn't loose him. She could never loose him.
It was the thought that pushed her to take draatic steps to save him. She was so thankful for all the tech courses that she had to take in Special Forces. It enabled her to turn the electrical devices into living bombs or horns, whatever works to save his life. And as the governor was saved, and taken away to a safe house with his family, Daya just couldn't hold anymore and fell down on the ground with a heavy thud. (I am taking liberty of changing the end of episode 60....haad hai yaar matlab usay goli lagi hai and ACP requires details before getting him medical aid)
----------------------------
Shreya rushed through the doors of City Hospital, Delhi where Daya was taken by the CID team. Purvi had message her.
She had to stay behind and send details of the mission to her superiors on emergency basis before she was allowed to leave the scene. No one knew how hard of a task that was for her. Her fingers coukdn't stop shivering as she collected all documents and kept on mixibg them. She had to wipe away her tears too much just to look at a hand distance. Her heart couldn't find a single trace of peace. As soon as Special Forces of Delhi had taken over the charge of the place, she left, not being able to take that torture anymore.
"CID inspector ko yahan laya gaya hai.....Gun wound hai...." She asked on reception and was quickly told to move on 2nd floor as he was shifted into the ICU already. Bullet was removed successfully and everyone was waiting for him to get conciousness.
Lift was taking too much time to arrive from 4th floor so she opted for the stairs. Her breathing had already laboured when she arrived infront of ICU door. Abhijeet just came out of it after his visit. ACP, Purvi, Pankaj were waiting outside on the bench.
"Sir, Daya Sir abh kaise hain? koi khatre ki baat tau nahi?" Shreya asked quickly, trying to catch her breath.
"Aram se Shreya....tum aisay hanp kyun rahi ho.....Daya theek hai....bus hosh main ana baqi hai warna chinta ki koi baat nahi" ACP sir replied calmly, making sure to let her catch her breath.
"Khoon thora zyada beh gaya tha...likin fikar ki baat nahi hai Shreya.... Tum ja k dekh kyun nahi leti?" Abhijeet added and his words gave her a reason to move inside the room without anymore awkward discussions.
The monitors beeped loudly in her ears, the all clean anticeptic smell strongly hit her nostrils that usually makes her feel queazy but nothing seems to matter right this time.
All that matters is the person who was laying on the bed, with a face so serene as if fulfilling his sleep after a long struggle. Her feet trembled while moving towards his bed. Her eyes were teary and her mouth was just opening and closing like a fish, as no words could seem to justify her state.
Her fingertips moved up to touch his fingers, which were usually warm but right now, were ice cold. She flinched at the cold contact, her mind had never registered his touch anything else than Warmth. Her fingers automatically wrapped around his hand, as if trying to snuggle it. Her other hand moved up to trace the side of his jaw down to his neck where she could feel his pulse. And only then, she could breath. She could cry. She could feel alive.
She sat on the stool beside his bed as her legs refused to support her anymore. Her adreline had vanished as soon as her mind registered that he is fine, he is alive.
Outside, Abhijeet, Purvi and ACP were looking inside through the window. They knew them, their respect for eachother, their sacrifice, their trust, their commitments and also their Love.
"Is bar in dono alag nahi hona chahiye, Sir......" Purvi spoke up, her eyes watered just imagining how much they both have suffered till now.
"Sahi kaha Purvi, Is bar inki kahani ko poora hona hi hoga...hona hi hoga........Aik bar dair ho chuki hai, abh or nahi...." ACP sir agreed, already making a firm decision.
"Likin Sir, hum karain gay kia?" Abhijeet inquired.
"Wo sab tum mujhpe chor do.... Bus Daya ko theek honay do.....Is bar uski shadi ki sehnai baj k rahay gi....Ye waada hai mera....ACP ka nahi....Aik Baap ka" The father in him was ready to fight all battlefields for his son, even if it means to fight a woman and her little daughter.
