Kartik's marriage to Vedika was null and void as Naira his wife was alive, he never ever had a scene of giving any promise, or getting close or even being friendly with Vedika, but regardless of everything. He should have confirmed the legal status of his marriage with Naira, annulled his marriage with Vedika on grounds of his dead wife returning after 5 years, and that would've solved everyting. He shouldn't have let Vedika suffer because of him. What he and Naira did was wrong. At the end he also lost his love Naira.

That’s highly probable.. because in yeh rishta one of the leads die off the other raises the child to some mature age … only Kartik died off when Akshu was 12-13 .. but they had MG to bring her up ..
