The level of creative liberty some Indian TV shows take these days is truly mind-boggling. There are countless ways to portray a bratty or antagonistic character—but setting something on fire inside an airport? In the arrivals area? That’s not edgy storytelling, it’s just absurd.

Scenes like this blatantly ignore international aviation regulations. In reality, passengers are thoroughly screened before boarding, and items like open-flame lighters are either strictly regulated or outright banned. Even if someone managed to bring one through, lighting a fire inside an airport would trigger an immediate security response, potentially involving detainment or arrest. It wouldn’t just be brushed off—it would be treated as a serious threat.

Not only does this kind of scene mock basic airport security protocols in India, it also undermines the systems of whatever country the character supposedly flew in from. And yet, this level of exaggeration has become surprisingly common in mainstream Indian television, where logic is often sacrificed for shock value.

It’s baffling—and frankly disappointing—how normalized this kind of over-the-top, unrealistic storytelling has become.

Dont expect logic from writers . When watching any ITV show this days I advice you keep your brain aside and watch as an air head . That will make you less frustrated 😅

I'm watching an ITV show after years and I couldn't agree more.

I am still catching up on the show and I haven't caught up on the sequence you're talking about, but I would have dropped this show if not for Harshad because the first week - what was that?! He just randomly enters the company, has her sign the contract and has no idea about the job description or salary?! Some creative liberties are okay, but shows these days have zero logic.

Also for a girl who was so scarred, she just trusted that Vikram guy so easily and let him into her personal space so easily?!

I don't know man.. something is so off about this show, it's like it started midway and rushed right into the plot without any proper introduction to the characters. Anyway, I'll watch till I get bored (which is probably gonna happen soon because I can't make head or tail to the story). Also I'm gonna say this - Harshad / Shivangi have zero chemistry. Pity because they have some nice scenes written and directed for them. And yes, the songs used for them - Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Kal Ho Naa Ho - SO SO WEIRD.

Rant over! Sorry for spamming your thread.

Girl, don’t apologize — I completely agree. The scenes you listed are just a few drops from that dumb canyon. They could easily achieve what they’re trying to depict in a sane, logical way, but instead they keep undermining their audience. Either they’re hiring clueless writers or they think we’re clueless viewers who can’t tell lemons from limes. Either way, it’s cocky, careless, and needs to stop.

I don’t remember the original Kitni Mohabbat Hai being this OTT — I binge-watched that entire show. The next version was a total brainfart; same leads but none of the charm. Now with Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, they’ve put Harshad Chopra front and center because of his massive fan following, but how long can they bank on just his popularity? You can’t expect viewers to keep tuning in for a dumbed-down plot with “blink and you’ll miss it” chemistry between the leads.

At this rate, they’re not selling us romance or drama — they’re selling us pure nonsense with a side of pretty faces.
