I have no wish to counter anyone. Like I mentioned, I just felt it funny that many of the episodes you mentioned had the both of the leads together rather than focusing on just one. That's why I reacted the way I did.
Baaki while I will defend Armaan, even I know that he made a mistake. What's funny is that not just I know it, even the shows narrative shows it and even the character knows it and is working on making amends. That is what is working with the TRP audience. I feel the TRP audience want Abhira and Armaan to actually communicate rather than it be one way. They may want Abhira to question Armaan and Armaan to respond. That is why I am assuming the confrontation episode got a low TRP (2.0 & 1.8), while the video call episode got the highest TRP of that week. (2.2). Again this is my assumption
I know you enjoy analysing TRPs. But I would like to mention here that production houses have teams that do just this day in and day out. They know exactly what gives them TRPs and what doesn't, down to the actual scenes. They also know what works with the online audience and what doesn't. That is their job. So I do not know about others, but I have never attributed the TRP to any one character. It has always been situational for me and I maintain that tracks, characters and stories change overnight because while for us story and characters matter, PH and channel is only bothered about the TRPs - jiske audience hum nahi hai.
@blue will you give similar reaction to Abhimaan fans on X who give sole credit of TRP to Armaan? There is no problem in even giving sole credit, but episode should truly center around Armaan, with maximum number of scenes or entire focus on Armaan mostly. Regarding the episodes that focus on both leads, and I mentioned one, I disagree, in few episodes Abhira is focused more, even though she always has max. screenspace, whereas, in few like Shivani's track, Armaan was focused more whereas several others centered around Abhimaan. If BSP truth reveal episode focused on one lead for 16 minutes her reaction, her pain and trauma and the reaction of other characters too, but comparatively much lesser on him or his reaction (that particular episode), I will call it episode centered around her, that's just my perspective. The episodes that followed that reveal episode focused on him equally with KP slapping him and him having a breakdown or guilt, Vidya mata siding with him. Similarly if Abhira clocking Vidya focused on one lead for 18 minutes without any other character's scenes(without involving Abhira) in between and comparatively lesser on other lead, because of the context of scenes and dialogues also when all the situations/scenes revolved around former, I will call it former centric. Even before termed kidnapping episode bacha chor (Abhira) centric. Similarly teej and kc episodes were Abhimaan centric. Duration is compared just as reference to my opinion, you can laugh at it, but few episodes did focused on Abhira/Armaan even though it had both leads. That's just my perspective, which can be right or wrong. We can't exactly say what is liked and what isn't, but we can have our opinion.
@bold I disagree, for me what he did wasn't a mistake and that's where the difference of opinion arises, whatever kand, writers wrote for him to do for so long wasn't a mistake the way they are implying it now, it was a sin or a crime that cannot be nullified without punishment. Even if not punished just don't underplay or destroy other characters like Abhira to justify his actions (my pov), as that's fiction, we can like or dislike a character based on their actions, even if they don't get punished like Vidya and KP. For you he might be getting punished but for me he isn't, after license cancellation, the similar cycle shouldn't have repeated. What they showed was the most cruel treatment by a person who claims to love his partner, specifically when he didn't even face even a fraction of what he made other person go through, because of his thought process and decision for years, there was no valid reason. Can only laugh at the way they destroyed the ship, characters and story when so many other possibilities could be shown. According to me TRP audience wanted a similar reaction as BSP truth reveal maybe even a stronger one, than that thanda confrontation. Was just disappointed with the confrontation, many viewers who matters may also have, that's why low TRP for a track which could be the second high point for the show after BSP truth reveal, considering the build-up of months for confrontation, to give us fuski confrontation.
@red I know it's their job, and they bother about TRP but I don't think they put efforts in writing and editing, otherwise rishta won't be stuck at 1.9-2.1 (which are again decent numbers) for 4-5 months whereas their other show is performing better, which means they are capable of writing what audience likes the most. If viewers like Anupama as dancer, which was her passion her career, now they will forcefully add dance face off for Abhira which again might work for them in rishta too, though Abhira's career and passion isn't dancing, it's being the best lawyer. With rishta DKP is just following hit and trail method to see which track works and which doesn't. That's why they came up with surrogacy track. For me, creatives are just dragging episodes to increase episode count. Won't even know when the show ends so let's just voice out, what we want to say. We need not agree to each other's pov to respect it. That's all, thank you for your time for discussion.
