Dev was just shown constantly guilt ridden that he left Meethi behind and it was shown he is still lost in her memories cuz he made her paintings etc. They showed that he loved Meethi but didn’t have the courage to leave Anu due to Malini’s sake.

Overall he was just shown spineless and hapless. He went back to the village once to apologize to Meethi and tell her that he want to give Imlie and Meethi their rights in his life but Meethi rejected him cuz she said she didn’t know he was married when they had their affair so now that she knows he has a wife and daughter, she can’t accept him again. Buddha Ani will be mainly relegated to the usual fights with Arshi and trying to support gawaar J2 in the city.....he will only go back to the village one time and beizzati karva ke aa jaayega phir. Baaki time toh J2 hi bhaagti rahegi village on and off and uske peechhe peechhe RB jaayega....
