From the clips it seems like he didn't punch him right at that point.. probably left the room immediately consumed by momentary rage and jealousy & insecurities... still composed himself and came to senses quickly

That's the right way to handle it. Momentarily doubt and confusion, his insecurities flaring up, but then once he calms down he will see it for what it was. Maybe he can throw in an extra punch the next time they fight
