Yes the prestige thing was when she was an Oscar presented and did an awesome job....I was so proud of her that day....

I have seen the stars....with people walking over it , spitting over it....I tried to avoid walking on the stars because.....that was something astonishing for me.....but not any more....

Well, it’s not exactly bought. There’s still a nomination and approval process. The celeb pays for its installation and maintenance basically.

It’s prestige thing because it does symbolizes name recognition at minimum, and popularity and success at maximum. And the investment factor for her would be all the PR articles that will come of it and whatever marketing utilization she can get out of it.

and who nominates them?

i am not surprised at the maintenance charges...your star can get filthy and it will need big cleanup

Even the fans can nominate them....and it needs the approval from the celebrity before that star is awarded(if I can say that).....My question is that you are saying Deepika is the first Indian to get a star.......maybe because ARB, Irfan, PC didn't give their approval....it is nothing to gloat about being first when others could have rejected the offer and probably have....when it comes to HW....ARB, Irfan, PC are much bigger than DP....there is no way that they would have not been approved if Deepu was....simple logic...

lol.....I was with 2 young kids and hubby.....so no it was way before midnight for us.....and I didn't witness anything terrible....other than the locals don't care about whose star they are walking on...

I think in Mumbai also there is a walk of fame near SRK s house. In India ppl may notice it more.
