Just saw the movie ..Although the film has moments that scare you ,the film misses the mark in totality.The first half is interesting and builds the set up . However the way things unfold in the second half is bizarre and kills the excitement.The climax too is convulated ..

There are several sub plots that make no sense resultantly it becomes increasingly hard to connect with the film after a point..The suspense when the main villain is revealed comes as a surprise but what unfolds there after is far from exciting ..

It's Kajol who holds the film with a powerful act .She is in terrific form and shines in several moments.Also ageing like a fine wine..

Overall Maa is bit of a mess .

I would rather watch senior actresses like her than watching Arjun Kapoor or Abhishek bachhanan in lead roles in Bollywood

Maa showed a decent jump of 25% as it collected around 6 crore nett taking its two day number to 10.75 crore nett. The film was going to find it hard to put up huge growth due to the genre and some mass pockets putting up good numbers on day one and these places have not jumped on the second day. The growth mainly come from the bigger multiplexes which were up in the 30-35% range. The film is doing fair business and is dependent on the weekday holds.

Maa has seen a decent weekend though could have done with a better trend over the weekend. The film has collected 17.50 crore nett which compares well with a bigger film like Deva which did 19 crore nett. The collections are also good for female led film but they have come more because of genre than star presence.

The film has probably suffered somewhat in the bigger centres with Sitaare Zameen Par and F1 being the first choices. It is a different target audience but it becomes about having screenings in the right time slots and that becomes difficult with two other strong films. Still the weekend is good enough if the film can get a hold on Monday and run well through the week. Circuits like West Bengal and Odisha saw the best business due to the genre. The collections of Maa are as follows.

Saturday - 6,00,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 6,75,00,000 apprx

Saw the movie average it's on the lines of shaitan kajol did well nothing much

I was planning on going to see this but its so annoying to find screenings in the US.
