Thoughts on SZP's success

Honestly, Sitaare Zameen Par's success feels personal.

After years of loud, flashy, empty films dominating the box office, here comes a movie with heart, meaning, and no unnecessary frills — and it actually wins. That too post-COVID, when everyone kept saying “content doesn’t work anymore” unless it’s a franchise or a remake. Well… look at this.

The theme hit hard — kids who are different, who struggle in silence, and what it means to actually support them instead of “fixing” them. It was emotional without being preachy. Relatable without trying too hard. And it stayed with you.

And Aamir, man. He just gets it. Not trying to play a hero, just holding space for the story and letting the message breathe. It’s a very rare kind of maturity and restraint — and that’s what makes it powerful.

Also… Genelia was such a surprise. Understated, but so real. She brought warmth and depth to the role that grounded the whole film. Really glad to see her in something meaningful again.

What makes this sweeter is that the audience made it happen. No overhype, no marketing circus. Just word of mouth. People saw it, felt something, and told others. That’s rare now.

Feels like a small miracle, honestly.
A film that trusted us.
And we showed up.

On the contrary Minty, my anger is rising

I went to list the things I don’t like. An this films success would’ve been at the top if not for my pencil breaking. So I went and made a new list a now that broken pencil is no.1 for breaking my trust. But this films success is right behind it

as for the acting, I still have to watch the movie...however I certainly would trust Genelia to enhance a movie

Entertaining movie but with a fabulous message. I hate amir khan as a person but must say he is a good producer and actor

I have not seen the movie but the people around me have seen it, they seem to like it. It's caters more for family audience and kids loved it.
