Yes, it is a scene by scene copy.

Thankfully it is well done though.

I still prefer the Malayalam version because ofcourse it's THE MOHANLAL and as Georgekutty, he was just so amazing!

Ajay didn't disappoint either. He's been perfect as Vijay Salgaonkar!

That said, the star cast in both versions have been really good.

So yeah, I end up watching both versions always.

I have seen the original and it's remakes in their respective languages.

I do prefer Mohanlal. As expected from him brings the nuances and is so bloody good in the role. The hindi one was ok.

There is an exception to remakes over here then. I was just pointing out the double standards when it comes to remakes here. The lot don't even let the poster and trailers to drop shuru ho jaate hain.People go bonkers with the word "remake" here. smiley36

I didn't know that a Malayalam Drishyam 3 is releasing this year...didn't find an announcement for that... The plots of 1 and 2 may be the same, but to me the character performances had different nuances.

Drishyam is a 2013 movie where remakes in other regional languages still made more sense to me than of non-Hindi movies in the last years.

I didn’t know about the part 3 Malayalam version release date until a few days ago.
I liked part 1 better than 2.

Hindi remake has a lot of demand. I have family and friends who are eagerly waiting for Part 3.

Oh, I also would like to watch a Drishyam 3 - and again first the Malayalam one, then the Hindi one (if the plot is as intriguing as in 1 and 2). smiley1
