This forgetful behaviour is not enough IMO to rattle Neetu and Malla... it would have made sense if they had CAed Mannat... but even that didnt happen...

I’ve been wondering about the point of Vikku at the chawl and memory loss too - it was such a long & eventful night and Vikrant just a hindrance to Mannat

An aside I still don’t understand how Mannat’s ARS unmasking plan works, now black mailing with Ganan, but let see where that goes…..

a) but yes an alibi for Mannat. Neetu, Malla and ARS know Mannat was Vikku at night, in the house. So Mannat wasn’t the one who tied up ARS. But ARS must wonder that she checked and found Mannat sleeping in her room, so when exactly was Mannat meant to have been with Vikrant ? After or before then?? Overthinking right! And is Vikku’s car back or not?

b) for Mannat to confirm that Neetu is still drugging and the dangerous effect on Vikrant. ie semi-conscious and whole night memory loss. So Mannat now has to directly intervene with the meds. and perhaps think more about why Neetu would drugging her son.

c) for Vikrant himself to now wake up and consider/be worried that he is in fact blacking out and doesn’t remember whilst it’s happening. At marine drive was a mere minutes so he brushed it aside, but now a whole night and it’s not just Mannat but others are saying he wasn’t in his room etc yet he doesn’t recall anything. This will lead to his bts confrontation with his mum.

Mannat -

What is her plan? How is it getting her close to anything that ARS has done?? Why is she happy with whatever she has done so far ? She seemed distracted during the kitchen scene & was not even focussing on what Malla said, or was ok with Malla's apology for such a insulting evening. Can't she see that Malla is inviting her to every function & humiliating at every function? To be fair, she was cold towards Malla and we could make out Malla was at a loss in between with Mannat's monosyllabic responses.

One thing good she did was changed the medicine into vitamins, so hopefully Vikku will start getting some energy.

Vikrant -

I felt sad for him, but I was really pissed off too. The way he shrugged off Malla's apology, yes, Malla changed the topic, but this is Vikrant, such a sharp person, who never brooked an insult to his PA by Malla, today looked disoriented throughout. I was thinking maybe the he really did not remember & was trying to pretend he is ok, because we know he is affected by not remembering things and mentions it to his mom. He is embarrassed that he forgets so much! Mannat ignoring him, he registered.

ARS -

Where is the ARS of the Shalini track, who was so sharp, and quick on the uptake? This flustered woman is not able to think straight. And maybe this is what Mannat has achieved with her relentless letter writing hack?

I'm trying to make sense of the whole track & the motivation of the each character.

Malla

Though too much of her character today got on my nerves, because she is not as effective a villain as her mom. Every time, ARS tells her to use her brains, she comes up with more dangerous schemes. Today, ARS told her to treat Mannat using her brains, instead of treating her like...Malla herself completed, saying I am treating her like my sister. ARS got a shock and yelled at her. Of course, when she's being so malicious, how is she treating her like her sister?? I thought this was a supposed to be a cute' touch to remind ARS mannat is her daughter.

However, Malla did remind Mannat in the kitchen, that she wanted Mannat to introduce them because she was the first person she had confided to about Vikrant and her being betrothed. This was true, in the first couple of episodes, Malla had told Mannat about Vikrant. Reinforcing in Mannat the idea that these two are definitely getting married.

Of course, Vikrant stood listening, and didn't perk his ears at this...this is what bothered me. He is not picking up cues, the closer Malla is getting to her goal, the more she lets slip some little detail, that should alert him.

I honestly don't know where this is going. Because we have one more function, mehndi, and then yet another function, chooda, even after Vikrant gets restless about telling the truth. I hope they don't mess up by pinning their hopes on that one huge twist at the end of the track.

Mannat and ARS - ARS uses people's fear and weakness to get things done. Mannat is doing the same towards her. ARS fears her crimes will be out, went to the chawl and according to IF article she is ready to pay 1 crore. Mannat's plan is to make ARS suffer what she did to others and from ARS reaction being tied up, Mannat did quite a good job.

Mannat and Malla - Chunni rasam Malla only asked who else had the chunni, Neetu did most of the humiliation. The party, she was drunk (didnt like the reasoning) but can be also be because of the glowing Vikrant, her 'jealousy and obsession' took over.

Mannat wanted to leave during chunni ritual but stayed back for her goal. When you want to gain some, you will have to lose some. The issue is writer are not doing a good job in balancing it, its messing her character. She knows the kind of people in that house, why does she have to plead innocence? She doesnt have to fight, just firmly say 'I didnt do it' and stand her ground politely.

Malla- Today Neetu said Mannat will steal Vikrant from under her nose, it triggers Malla. She doesnt want to lose to Mannat. Neetu and ARS said to be more like ARS, its like saying you are lacking. Malla takes it as a challenge to prove herself. Her plan are ruining her wedding rituals and bringing Mannat-Vikrant closer. But her words and behaviour are making Mannat consciously keep her distance, in a way, its working.

Vikrant - Yes, he looked disoriented. I reasoned him following Malla plan is because his brain is messed up by the drugs. Didnt watch bts, I guess he confessed his weak memory to Neetu? Thats a good sign.

The huge twist at the end can be anything, maybe even what we dont want..dont keep high expectation

I am already ready to see him married to the psychopath. Like mother,like wife.
