Hi, I am new here. I initially started watching the show because of Hiba and Krushal—I really like them both. But I couldn’t continue watching as I didn’t connect with Janak’s character. Personally, I find it hard to enjoy shows where the female lead is portrayed as a maid.

Now I thought I’d give it another try for Gen 2, mainly because of Riya. I used to watch her in another show. But from what I’ve seen so far, it feels like they’re repeating the same storyline.

Can someone please fill me in on what happened in Gen1? I didn’t watch the full track, so I’m a bit lost.

Also, who is Ishani? Is she a new addition to the show? I’ve noticed she’s getting a lot of screen time lately and I’m just curious why that is.

Them being there or not makes no difference in story

Even this new Ani & Arshi seems like brand new couple in.new show … no link to old characters & this new ones ..

they should have started new show with these people …so annoying to watch all the story

Gen 1 has 565 episodes so it can be a quiet long post. I can just tell u the ending. Ani gave divorce to arshi and finally got married to jhanak. On the wedding night jhanak told him she's pregnant with his child and he didn't believed her . Thought it was parasar child with whom she was living for 5 years. He asked her to abort it as he loves her but will not give his name to someone's else child. They had a huge fight jhanak told him to leave ,saying she will bring up her child alone and doesn't need him. That's it. There was no follow up after that scene , what happened after that. Now in leap we are seeing Ani living with arshi. No one here knows about their relationship status if they got married again or not. While jhanak now nutan had a daughter named jhanak and is living with her.

Lol....and no one knows anything about ishani track. As all of us skipped their scenes as it had no connection to the storyline. Ishaani was a friend of jhanak . We still don't know why her track is there in the show 😂😂. I guess just to fill up 50 minutes time.

I would start by saying if your red line is FL being portrayed as a maid, then Gen 2 mein Riya will also be playing the same thing within the next 2 weeks, so you might want to think about that before getting into Gen 2

Re: Gen 1....here is a high level summary.

First 200 episodes - Ani tried to build Jhanak's career/education while she insisted on not wanting to do anything to improve her life and just sitting around as a maid or waiting for Tejas to kill her. Ani was confused about his feelings for Jhanak and took a long time to realize his love between Jhanak always lying to him or gaslighting him. And each time Jhanak would hurt him, he would return to staying with Arshi either out of anger or dejection.

After 225 episodes - Jhanak left Bose House and moved to Mumbai as part of a series of long running and contrived MUs between Runak since makers were already out of a story by then. She found various new male support systems along the way that contributed to MUs with Ani and Ani was shown letting Arshi move into his room as his wife even without marriage being completed. This continued until epi 400.

Around episode 300 - Ani and Jhanak both confessed their love to each other, Ani finally accepted his Kashmir shaadi with Jhanak as valid and tried to atone for his mistakes but Jhanak again brutally rejected him....then he got a heart attack and she came rushing back to save his life. Soon after that, Tejas tried to drown Jhanak and she was presumed dead, then found her birth father, came back with a new name Nutan. In that timeframe, Arshi was provoked by her mom to baby trap Ani since he was otherwise still lost in memories of Jhanak so she got him drunk and raped him and eventually got pregnant by it.

Epi 350 - 400: Ani tried to convince Nutan/Jhanak of his love but she kept rejecting him and told him to stay with Arshi....Arshi was aware of Ani's love since he had openly declared it to everyone and told her to leave his house too but she kept hanging around. Eventually around epi 400, Arshi announced she is pregnant and even though Ani had no memory of sleeping with her, he was pressurized by his whole family as well as Jhanak to accept the baby and marry Arshi for real. That's what happened in epi 400 as Arshi legally became his wife.

Epi 400-500: Jhanak living with other random men as their fake wife/bacche ki Maa to add to more MUs between her and Ani, Arshi gives birth to her baby but it gets stolen by someone in the hospital. Blame comes on Jhanak and Arshi gets her arrested. Ani is enraged and leaves Bose House to fully support Jhanak and stay with her after getting her out of jail....they have a brief live-in phase, Arshi also finds a new guy to hook up with so Ani convinces her to give him a divorce....but new guy is a fraud who plans with Arshi to fool Ani about the divorce and back out last minute. The day Ani is about to marry Jhanak, Arshi back out of the divorce and brings police to arrest Ani. Jhanak runs away without a word and Ani is not able to find her anywhere. Jhanak randomly finds the stolen baby of Ani and Arshi at the bus stop and takes it back from the woman who stole it and then she reaches a random village where she hides for next 5 years - again posing as someone's fake wife and letting him give his name to that kid. She names that kid Moon.

500-550: 5 year leap happens - Jhanak is happily settled in the village living as Nutan, the fake wife of Parasar who by now is in love with her. Ani is also staying with Arshi since 5 years but is cold and aloof with her and drowns himself in work. Then he randomly visits that village for work and is floored on finding Jhanak again. She as usual keeps rejecting him but they share some emotional moments and eventually sleep together one night. Then she tells him that she has his daughter Moon here with her so he should take her back with him to the city. After that he has some MU thinking she is really Parasar's wife so he insults her, calls her dhokebaaz and leaves with Moon. He is shown remembering the night with Jhanak constantly but Jhanak only remembers it once she discovers she is pregnant ....still she refuses to inform Ani that she is having his child and is comfortable letting Parasar give his name to the baby. After some time she lands in the hospital, Ani comes to know and rushes to save her, then his MU gets cleared that she is not married to Parasar so he tries one final time to reunite with her.

Last few epis of Gen 1: Ani gets a divorce from Arshi in exchange for huge alimony amount and has joint custody of Moon with her. He returns to the village to get married to Jhanak and take her back with him....but Parasar creates drunk scenes there acting like a mad lover for Jhanak which again leads to MU from Ani's side once Jhanak informs him of her pregnancy on their wedding night so he refuses to accept the baby as his (he suddenly is shown to have amnesia about the night when he otherwise fully remembered it since many days)....and Jhanak tells him to get out and ends all ties with him. Gen 1 ends.

Gen 2 has started with same status quo continuing....old Jhanak permanently changed to Nutan and has now named her daughter Jhanak. Nutan and Parasar are just as close as 20 years back, she serves him like a wife in all other ways but doesn't seem to have married him. Ani is again living with Arshi - probably to raise Moon and they are still not getting along 20 years later.

Oh forgot to tell you about Ishaani....lol she was randomly introduced one month back before the leap as Jhanak's old school friend from Kashmir. They showed a month long track of her coming to a nearby village and getting harrassed and kidnapped by some goon which led to her being defamed and maligned by society. She barely has any connection to Jhanak - only met her once in the last month of epis but she is being run as a major parallel plot to fill time for the one hour daily episodes of this show.

Leena has been showing mostly fillers since around episode 340 or so when the show was switched to one hour telecast permanently so now it's not even surprising that she gives more extensive footage to random side characters than to the leads.

Waise I realized that I forgot to include the part about how Jhanak's mom suddenly changed from Urvashi to Srishti after 300 episodes and evil Brij Bhushan suddenly had a good twin who was Jhanak's real father

Haha dunno if it's apt for Wikipedia. I wrote this with the presumption that the person asking for the summary already knew about the initial Kashmir portion of the story and wanted to know story after Jhanak came to stay in BH as maid
