CC2C was not a bad film..it is just that Akki-Katrina were such a hit Jodi..those days with SIK..Akki was challenging Khans...and Deepika was on the enemy side. Akki fans sat at home,I guess.They missed something..Akki was really good in this film.

I wonder if that happened with JTHJ too. The film released weeks after director Yash Chopra's death..the lower than expected opening stunned the trade.

I agree with Dp and her sister when they said this was her worst film. I thought she looked good and did good action stunts in the film. Songs were good but film was not good at all. Horrible film.

Chandni Chowk to China was like a (not bad) 'fast and furious' Masala movie with 'Easter eggs' to me. I liked this film more than Sing is Kinng I'd watched because of the good Akki-Katrina impression I had from Namastey London and Welcome.

I think, it was Deepika's 3rd movie after OSO and the one with Ranbir and I can agree with what had been written by a critic I read:

John Anderson in Variety wrote, "If Chandni Chowk to China were a person, it would need Valium", and found that "everything is fast and furious, hilarious, hysterical and frantic. Some of the sequences are quite beautiful and, in the case of the dance numbers featuring Padukone, stunning. But it's the fight scenes as that truly take off".

As for JTHJ, already before the release, there had been a lot of negative posts relative to the pairing of SRK and Katrina and what got known about the plot (especially fuelled by Eros International with whom SRK had a fall-out after the distributor Lulla's unprofessional behaviour and then Lulla's film with Ajay Devgn clashing with Yashji's movie).... I equally suppose that JTHJ was a bit 'saved' by Yashji's death (relative to the boxoffice).

If Deepika did women centric action movies from the beginning, it would've been the best decision. She was trained in action stunts before she even made her debut. She is an action star. She NEVER used stunt double to do her scenes, you will notice how other actresses and actors use stunts double to do their scenes. Deepika lacks confidence but if she had the confidence to carry a film on her shoulder, she would've been huge in like a gangster robbery thriller genre type of action movies.
